Hi Guys,

I have had a quick search on the forums and can see conflicting viewpoints about this.

I am curious about people's experiences with reusing content from sites that have been penalised by the big G.

As in getting the penalised site completely deindexed from google and reusing the content word for word (no spinning). Is this an issue? Have you had any problems ranking again with the same content?

Or do you usually get your articles rewritten? Do you only do this with churn n burn?

If it is deindexed because of the text itself that you are interested in copying, then I do not use it. I might reword it and use after. If the website is deindexed for another reason, and not because of the text, then you know it is safe and you can use it.

Let's say for example that the website is penalised due to 'Unnatural links' and has 100+ incredibly well written and unique articles. Can you just manually deindex the site from WMT and reuse the articles in a month or two once google has completely deindexed them. Is this a risky move? Have you had experience doing this? What are rankings like?

Yeah, I would use it. Probably reword it a bit to avoid any issues, but you should not have any. Ranking algo should work normally. So it is incredibly well written texts (and SEO optimized), then you should have no worry ranking for small/medium competition keywords without backlinks.

I've tried this in the past. One of my domains got deindexed, I tried to copy the content to a new page and no, it didn't get indexed. Even that content is sandboxed apparently.

What did you end up doing? Re-writing / spinning?

I rewrote a few paragraphs and it was as good as new. The exact copy won't work. At least not straight away.
