I like Twitter over anything else these days. I've never liked Instagram, I never bothered with SnapChat and rarely used Facebook for anything other than spamming.

Those who failed in using Reddit or any other platform profitabily, would obviously say that Reddit, etc is (are) a "failed" social media platform.
There are people who have made hundreds of thousands of (US) dollars, promoting offers in Reddit.
Some people also say that Google is a "failed" search engine. Such people never introspect or analyze where their failure has been, but they rather prefer to point fingers and not take any personal responsibility.
Reddit is an awesome and unique social media platform which if used effectively, can make one a decent amount of money. Yes, it may require a dedicated approach, but there are people doing that and earning well from Reddit alone.

I don't know about that one but red army did many crimes to ordinary people in times of communism... I don't understand why some people would want this kinda system back....

As far as internet marketeers go, internet marketeers do not bother about any of the points mentioned by you. Internet marketeers focus on only making money and smart internet marketeers goes along with the flow, in any platform, rather than against the flow. So, for those internet marketeers making & still making money through Reddit, for them Reddit is an awesome social media platform, no matter what limitations or restrictions may be there (as with almost all social media platforms). Infact restrictions and limitations leads to lesser internet marketing competition in social media platforms, which is good for those internet marketeers who have the right mindset and also keep evolving their skills.

You need purchasing power and conversion. Both are core points in any marketing campaign. I mentioned both.

It's failed now!
Traffic from Reddit has got to be the absolute WORST there is of the Internet.
I doubt that even 4 chan could be as bad as Reddit.

It's hard to say they will fail, without knowing what exactly you mean by failing.
If failure is "going out of business," I highly doubt that will happen any time soon.
On its worst day, its a "cleaned up" version of #Chan forums.
While the purchasing power is important, to some advertisers, eyeballs is enough. They know eyeballs eventually convert, even if you have to retarget those eyeballs nonstop elsewhere (pretty sure they can be followed elsewhere). If you know this, you pretty much have an untapped source that few will try to replicate because of the first barrier exhaustion.
If you can garner attention on there, you can extend any noteriety elsewhere that converts better, or can be leveraged into getting in front of those converting folks.

Becoming a moderator.
Using the platform for top funnel traffic.
Filtering funnel traffic through outlinks.
Remembering that the traffic wants money, not to spend it.
Contenting appropriately.
