Alright so before someone tells me to simply look around the forums, I have been doing so and im just looking for some external input from people who have more experience than me in this field. :)

So I am fairly new to SEO and so far I have made 1 niche site. I have a few questions if some of you don't mind answering.

    1) If you were to go back and restart, what would you do differently?

    2) I have a vague checklist of steps i should be taking in order to rank a site, it goes as follows.

Find a niche that has a demand for a product

Find and Research Keywords for said niche

Choose a keyword and make a website

Make some good quality blog posts focusing around those keywords & do on-page SEO

Build back links ( What im struggling with most)

Rinse and Repeat? (I know this is quite vague so please correct me if I am forgetting anything)

    3) Are there any strategies which are pertinent and effective as of right now?

If anyone has any good posts with quality information on here I would greatly appreciate a link.

I am very open minded and not afraid of failiure (I have accepted that my first 5 sites will probably not be very profitable but i am willing to do whatever it takes to prevent that) I truly believe i have the right mindset and I will eventually be successful in ventures. No matter what it takes

I would like to thank anyone who goes out of their way to help me.

If anyone is willing to spare some time and help me 1 on 1, please email me at d.grant1768@gmail.com

    Best Regards, David.

Hey David and welcome to BHW.

    1) If I was able to reverse time I would get my self organised rather then jumping in to the game. Well I am much organised now more than I was before I started. Its a key to success in every job , business, etc.

    2) Your checklist is vague but its a decent start, there are tonnes of guides on the internet and BHW which can be your ladder to success, I prefer to read guides rather than watch the videos.
Everything depends on you , read then research and then begin to implement. SEO is all about time it does not happen in a day. Things can start to show results from weeks to months so be patient and keep repeating the steps you have decided to take. Slowly and eventually with proper work you will see results. Key is focus.

    3) I can not answer this question as of yet in 2017 because I just started a new projected and I will keep everyone posted of my results.

I am sure there will be more members who will help you

Thank you for the quick response, from the beginning i have tried to keep myself organized as i am habitually unorganized in my day to day life. I will continue to keep that in mind and I will be patient in my ventures. so far I waited for my site to appear in google and i ranked page 6 for my keyword (with barely any backlinking and a fairly competitive keyword.

I am trying to do my best but it is quite hard for me as i am willing to invest in this business but after paying my hosting, domains, ect ect i cannot afford a software such as Majestic. I am making the most out of my free daily searches. If anyone knows of any loop holes or alternatives i would greatly appreciate it.

You don t need paid software just yet.. use kwfinder, the free version, ahref and semrush both free versions. Check any interesting keyword manually for the best results:)

Read. That's my best advice for anyone. Read guides, read discussions, hell even read the infographs in the marketplace. Research the hell out of anything you don't fully understand. Then test. Test everything you've been told works or you think would work. Determine the results for yourself.

If you look around on the forums here you can easily find all the information you could possibly need to rank a low competition keyword. Good luck man!

The first website I made went all the way to spot #16 after working on it for 6 months, and I wasn't scared of over-optimization (anchor profile). A few weeks later, I disappeared from the serps. So my advice would be to diversify your link sources, watch your keyword density, and anchor profile. It won't have to take 5 websites to become profitable, you can surely make this first one work if you really go after it. Good luck!

I have a question, as for the product being sold in a niche, it is to my understanding that it is better to have a higher cost per sale rather than trying to sell cheap products and simply going for quantity. Are there any situations that go against this?

It seems logical for me to try and sell something where i can make one sale and profit the same as 10x sales of another product as an example

It really depends on what you understand as a sale. If you resell the products yourself, then a higher cost can be better, so you don`t have a lot of transactions for pennies in your paypal and risk a ban. If you're selling as an affiliate, then most affiliate programs will pay once or twice per month so you will get all the money you make in a batch, which means it doesn`t really matter in terms of transactions how many sales you make. As for what converts better cheaper or more expensive, the niche is usually important. You could try to sell a cheaper t-shirt, but when you're selling a laptop, people usually go for quality and slightly higher prices. But that`s just my experience :)

I`m 28, but I`ve been around the IM world since I was 13. 17 is a perfectly good age to start, 18 is a must in my country so you can get a credit card and other services that can`t be bought by minors..

If you use someone else's card, be sure it`s someone close and you have full control over what happens with it. It should also be someone that could go up to the bank and talk in your name if something came up :) very important. You don`t know how important is control over your finances until you get into a problem :)

    1) Think long term.

    3) Good ON page SEO is No. 1 priority, if ON page seo is not good, no matter what link building you do it will not be as effective. Backlinks always worked and will always work, but google prefers to rank old pages now a days, so build backlinks every now and then, forget about the site/page for few months.
