    Hi All,

I need a little advice please.

I am desperate to get my site to position 1 on page 1 of Google - currently sat in 2nd right behind my main competitor (massively frustrating)

What can I do to help me into position one other than the usual SEO techniques?

    Any help is appreciated!!!

Did you optimize your onsite ? Did you analyse your competitor on / off site ?
You must find something to do after this ;)

I do regular off site link building and have fully optimised on page.

How can I monitor what my competitors are doing off site? I run their pages through AHrefs regularly to check where they are getting links from.

I've also noticed that my links are a lot stronger but don't seem to be having an effect.

My competitors have a lot of foreign links. Mainly Chinese. I'd rather avoid these if possible

Others questions that you can ask yourself :

    - How many pages they have ?
    - How many keywords are they ranking on ? What about you ?
    - How many percentage anchors have they on your main & long tail keywords ?
    - How old are their domain names ? What about you ?

    You must to think broadly.

Your links may be stronger, but are they relevant? I have wasted a lot of time making strong unrelevant links and they barely rank anything these days IMO

You can spy their backlinks and kwd they're targeting using SEMRush / Ahrefs / Majestic. Using one tool will not tell you everything. They could be using hidden PBN or so.

If you sure that your links are better than them, it's just a matter of time then.

Also, check their content, is it better than yours?
