I have the exact same problem. I work for a retail store and we sell using photos, but I seem to never be able to rank our photos at the top of google for their keywords.
You guys getting your meta's/descriptions done? Are the images unique?
Image optimization is important for ranking. so you can do it properly.
-Adding the file name with a relevant keyword
-Use Alt tags. An Alt tags on your image that clearly describes your image.
-reducing file size for high loading speed
If they are unique then post that on Google Images.
In order to make sure that your image ranks in google you need to properly optimize it. These are the key factors:
Alt tag - describes what an image is, should be precise, unique and consist of approx. 6 words,
Linked image - indicates the importance of an image and its role on the site,
Title - holding your mouse over an image displays more information about it,
The text, as well as its formatting, surrounding an image is also important and may affect the ranking
The name of an image - e.g. /image-positioning.jpg
The size of an image.
What is more, I think the number of images may also affect their ranking (less is better).
Think there's something in sitemaps for images
Separate names with a comma.
