I am facing sitemap issues in search console. The only option I am left with is to delete the property and index it again.

My site is already ranking for many keywords and generating me good revenue. So is it a wise move? If i do it, will my rankings be gone?

If I understand correctly, then you have an error in Google search console. try creating a new site map and adding it to the search console. a sitemap is optional, but it helps to better index your site’s pages.

I have tried various ways, but everytime the same error.
 
Last summer, my friend had a similar problem, but with robots.txt. Nothing helped, but after 2 weeks the problem disappeared on its own.
 
Whats the actual error you are getting?

You can off course delete and create property again.
