In December 2020, I registered a domain with GoDaddy and connected it to my Blogger blog. However, I failed to maintain the consistency and never went back to admin panel until January 2023.

To restart the blog, I started building backlinks from February 2023, aiming to raise domain authority first and publish content afterward. I thought google will index my content fast and help my site ranking as well.

Since June 25th there were 145 outbound links from 35 sites in search console account. On August 1st, I found that all links pointing to my site had vanished, even though the link profile is natural that I created using the free version of Ahrefs, i.e. from February to mid-June.

I had two questions to ask

1. Why google completely ignored/denied all these backlinks?
2. Should I continue blogging with this domain or better registering a new one?

Google ignores backlink profiles because they are not seen as a reliable indicator of a website's quality or relevance in search engine rankings. Google prefers to focus on content quality and relevance when determining rank.

To discourage manipulative link building, Google has various policies and systems in place. This means that links acquired through questionable practices are often ignored or “devalued.” But a large volume of toxic backlinks can trigger a manual action (or Google penalty).

Have you checked if those links that you created are still there. (are those links even indexed on google?)

2. Get a new domain.

i think that the quality of backlinks matters more than quantity. If the links were from low-quality or spammy sites, Google might have discounted them. in addition, If there was an unnatural spike in the acquisition of backlinks within a short period, Google might view it as suspicious behavior and discount those links.
