Question about selling high earning website

Hello,

I am currently looking at selling one of my largest earning websites and looking for some advice on how to go about selling it. The website earns between 20-30k a month, through email and telemarketing I do for web design and social media marketing. I spend about 1500 a month to keep it going. My first question is this: when I use a domain appraiser tool it shows that my website is worth practically nothing, but I on the other hand it is profiting over 20-30k a month, would this be a problem for selling my website? If not, the next question would be where would be/ how would be the best way I could sell this?

why do you want to sell it if you earn so much from it? Just hire somebody to keep it going for you ..

There's several reason the first being that I am looking to move back into game development, originally when I started this website it's goal was just to pay the bills, the first month I took in more profit than I thought I would, and from there I set aside my game development and went full-time with this. Ultimately this would be better ran by someone who has more intentions of keeping the company going. I have a pretty big client base that I work with on a day to day basis, which leaves no time for the things I need to do.

Also it worth noting that I have tried to hire people, and it tends to lead to issues, with either work not being completed as needed, sales being screwed up for promising more than what supposed to be done. I do not have the time to manage and train staff and run this at the same time.

My suggestion is to start a JV instead of selling site, that someone pays you investment for new project and you and he runs the current site and split the earnings. if you still want to sell, than with proof you can sell it at flippa

I have the proof to back everything (Well Merchant statements, analytics from the site, all online sales records and so forth). How would I benefit from a joint venture?

For that dollar volume and business model you would probably be better off using a dispassionate party that specializes in selling online business properties.

I'd recommend getting ahold of the boys at http://feinternational.com/. The owner is a Mod here as well as a professional in his field with a bevy of contacts that are looking to spend money on businesses such as yours.

Contacted these guys a day ago, they said my business model wouldnt work for selling. They said I would have needed to outsource all my work in order for them to be able to help.

I will check out empire flippers, one thing I am looking for is to get help from a professional because I have never flipped a website with this much income before, so I was hoping to do it through a broker but so far looks like thats a no go.

is this totally online? all profits from online sales?

Well all sales go through online, because that's how I accept payments through my merchant. I guess i would be better to try and sale My business verus the website. Because everything goes through me first, the end result just happens on the website things that happen on the site would be - info for customers looking what services are offered, handling subscriptions for recurring billing, and also tech support. Email marketing, landing pages, and social media all link back to the site, but typically I speak with each person on the phone before going further.

upon looking at my sales reports from August 2014 until now the total earned through the website (Payments taken from the site not offline payments) would be exactly $119,641.65 so I guess that brings it to around almost 12k a month of online payments (these numbers not including this month)

297 USD to list? Is that normal? I know flippa charges 19. Empire Flippers is that much better?

You have a business that is doing 12K a month and a couple of hundred dollar listing fee is something that you see as a concern?

I had a business I sold about 8 years ago that went for mid 6 figures and I took a few prospective buyers out to some very nice dinners to make the sale. You can't be wallowing in a swamp when your buyers are coming to you in luxury cruisers with double state rooms.

I find it hard to believe that someone who is capable of making a website that pulls in 20 - 30k thinks that these shit domain tools have any relevance on the actual price.

You're making 20-30k profit per month? And you want to save on $300 fee? I know virtually nothing about flipping sites but there seems to be some glaring omissions in what you've said. Why are you selling it? (is that an inappropriate question?)You could employ 5 or 6 people just to run it for you and still make a profit.

You're not pre-baiting, are you?

The 297 Empire Flippers charges to list is definitely higher than other places, but in my experience, the work they put into vetting the sites (and the buyers) makes it well worth it. Another advantage to their marketplace is their mailing list and the fact that people trust them so much.

And as mentioned above, $300 is almost nothing compared to what you'll get from that sale.

To everyone saying I'm complaining about the 297 fee that is not the case. I was merely asking if that is to be expected. Anyways sat down with a Business Broker yesterday for my local area, he seems pretty interested in it. The only issue is they do not fully understand what Biz Op is so I have to go back for another appointment the guy looked pretty overloaded from everything I was showing him. I guess I forgot to mention before there is an LLC with it so technically it's a business here.

May i ask what the business is all about? You collect leads and mometize them through calls? Where do u get the leads...seo or ppc? Niche is bizopp?

How big is your current client base and how many clients are you getting per month? Averages of course. What is your funneling system? Traffic sources (rough data of course) on how you are getting your clients, etc... PM me all this info and your skype ID too please and I might hook you up with a big player in this field.

BTB and all the others are correct. What you are trying to sell is a business not just a website. The website is just a portal for your business where you mostly handle sales. It's basically worthless to someone if he buys just the website without the entire business model, because it will be the same as buying a "corporate/company" website from freelancers. I hope you understand what I mean. I'm looking forward to your PM.
