QofDay: Do you actually know what an algorithm is?

Serious question here - will make everyone think hard about it.
And what is the answer in the end - humanity is better off, or worse off because of "The Algo"?

And at what point does it get out of control...a.k.a. A.I. based craziness.

Google claims to update all the time.

But are they even aware of what's going on? The best programmer in the world probably can't decipher an algorithm code if their life depended on it.

What do you mean they can't decipher it? The internal blackbox mechanisms of a neural network? The algorithm was designed by the best programmer in the world, so surely they can decipher it

So what is "the algo" on your opinion? Because im not sure what exactly are you talking about.
