I would have thought that you would be asking yourself first how can l serve up a better search experience to my customers, without looking at your website it's difficult to suggest much other than the obvious, for example .....

You should be looking at your stats first to determine where the majority of your traffic is coming from, what are its buying habits, what is the age group and other questions that will pinpoint which niche to concentrate on.

When you have found which niche is showing the most traffic l would send them a sheet asking them what they were looking for, what they needed and so on......

I can give you lots of ideas but there are just too many to be on the money without further information.

just wanted to add that the very first project i did online way back in the day was doing these same steps with ebay powersellers.

i approached them like this:

"i've been researching the top sellers on ebay for a project i'm doing. i'm interviewing 10 of the best ebay experts and publishing audio cds. I have 2 spots left. are you interested?"

very simple way to get people excited to participate. :)

Hi Nicho

Thanks for the response. I wan't sure If I was able to post my url or not. To be safe just google OKlads and you'll find my site. (first link)

Well I do have a few ideas, such as sweepstakes and the monthly interviews. This is the first time I have run a website so I'm not 100% sure. But I will have a look at my stats and see which subject people go to the most.

Oh and the site hasn't made much money yet...

Thanks.

really nice post and it's easy o implement , let me try that service as well !! :)

Had a quick look at your website and whilst it is entertaining you really need to focus and monitize it properly for example l was in the health and fitness section oh l say and was ready your post Recovery Oriented Supplements That You Should Consider and you need to optimize your content properly with the LSI keywords that google will give you credit for.
When l clicked on the hyperlink Recovery Oriented Supplements That You Should Consider l expected to go to an offer of some kind but found it linked back to the same page, it may be a website in making but if you get the basics correct that link would have taken you to a monthly supplement affiliate cpa offer which would convert, not to mention you could have got their email name and address before you send them to the offer.
A quick look an check tells me you are not on the top ten for any of the keywords showing in the source code page and l would suggest that looking at the kewords most of them are the wrong keywords for you with a commercial intention of around 0.57 but with very heavy competition.

Conclusion based upon a brief look at your website suggests that you need to go back to the drawing board and formulate a more detailed plan of action, you need to research and decide which segment of the markets you want to go after and find that niche.

Sorry if its not what you want to hear but its better than being told you have a great looking site thats not making you any money.

So to answer your original question, you need to pick one niche and focus upon that before you will every be able to turn it into a members site.

Hi Nicho

Don't be sorry mate. I'm new to all of this so any advice to improve the site is much appreciated. SEO was only recently done to the site about a week ago so I won't rank much on any keywords.

I'll look at implementing your suggestions before I try to turn it into a membership. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.

One of the greatest business opportunities at the moment is to offer a solution to the facebook members who have to change their Fbml fanpages to iframes

Plese read the article that l have copied and pasted fromFBMAXED

FB Maxed is on CNBC News! Facebook Users Facing an Uncertain Future As FBML Is Rendered Obsolete Finds CNBC. On March 11 2011, Facebook opens up a new chapter as it welcomes the new iFrames while doing away with FBML. This causes a ripple of concern among its users as many have already gotten used to the old way of using FBML to build fan pages and apps. Do you know what lies in store with the new iFrames? Facebook users are in for a quandary as FBML is made redundant with the arrival of the new kid on the block, the iFrames.

While it cannot be denied that the new iFrames brings a much needed upgrade to the way Facebook Pages can be developed, such as incorporating the functionalities of a full web site onto a Facebook Page, the sudden change has taken many aback and most have not gotten around to it yet. Resources for learning and using the new iFrames are few and hard to come by.

To download the facebook iframe templates you may visit Website: wtt.fbmaxed.com

There are a few mavericks out there who welcome the new iFrames with open arms, saying that this is indeed a much needed upgrade, but a majority are worried that the change is too rapid and argue that there just aren't enough resources and material out there now to get up to speed on using iFrames.

Products such as Website: wtt.fbmaxed.com handsomely combine the rich capabilities of iFrames with the HTML5 framework to produce excellent websites (yes, iFrames is capable of creating complete websites within your Facebook Page) on anyone's Facebook Page. It is one of the few products out there on the market now that guide and teach Facebook users on how to make full use of iFrames.

The arrival of iFrames and the departure of FBML heralds an uncertain future for Facebook users. What is certain is that iFrames is here to stay for the long haul. Will you learn how to use iFrames quickly enough? Getting a good quality guide or product will go a long way in helping you to master iFrames sooner rather than later. End of Article

Part 2 will be the next post how to profit from it...........

Part 2 Profiting from the facebook change with iframes on fanpages.

Unless you have been hiding under a bush you will know that now facebook has changed the way that their and yours fanpages are set up.

This has caused a massive problem with people and groups who just don't have the time and expertise to understand the change and implement the iframe,s which has left a huge opportunity to approach almost any niche and its members who enjoy a a large following on their fanpages.

In the past week l have managed to contact and convert 11 new owners of fanpages who have agreed to let me design and install their iframes for free as long as they agree to a 50/50% profit share of a new members website.

They continue to get new members and write the content, l maintain the iframes and run the members website........l did approach a lot of people around 50 so the conversion was not bad and the profits should be great.

This facebook market is now wide open and ready for you to exploit and make a fulltime living creating membership websites on a 50/50 jv with the owners.

So go for it, as l don't thing it will ever be saturated.

Definitely interested in the Fanpage idea...how did you go about finding the prospects? Just searching FB? Also, I'm assuming these were people that already had membership sites setup through FB, is that correct? Or did you approach membership sites that didn't have a page already and go that route?

Thanks for the idea.

Nesterdwark, All l simply did to find clients was to visit facebook and pick the most popular groups and contact some of the members, it takes a little digging and you'll get a lot of no's until you reach the people who are open to your suggestion, but they are in there and lots of them.

Hi nicho! I'd like to say thank you very much for sharing, we really appreciate it :)

I just wanted to ask you, what type of contents/freebies/stuff/features do you offer inside the membership area of your chosen niche?

Thanks again man and may your business prosper more :)

ajushi
You asked what l gave people in freebies and content......

I think you need to read the thread fully as it explains the concept of having a jv with an expert of some kind, the expert would produce the content for you for a share of the profits.

For example .....

dog niche could be dog care ebooks, articles, videos products,

health niche could be almost anything like the above plus pill...etc.

Hey Nicho, appreciate the insights. I have a local website for people who share artwork, photography, fashion tips, street art, essays, etc. I put a business directory on there..how else do you think I should monetize this? Do you market any products locally?

Hi Lush1 Without seeing your website or knowing a bit more on how its set up , it is difficult to give you any advice other than generic.

Off the top of my head, if you have a directory going then it seems obvious to me that the websites that are keen to be listed take their business serious and are candiates for a 50/50 members website if you approach correctly and do the set up for them.....ie put a wordpress blog or members section for them.

I can see all sort of upsells if they go for a members site....photography advanced video tutorials etc.

Lots more opportunities especially as they may not have SEO skills, marketing skills, they may need linking campaigns all kinds of repeat income generators.

hope that helps you

I hear what your DOC X and l used to feel that way too, but then the peeny finally clicked with me and l realised that everyone who is trying to learn about internet marketing are at different learning stages and so there is not a product out there that caters for everyone and as a result there will be some overlapping of information.

Then there is the balance between trying to help someone with real genuine advice that could help them earn money and hype which can convince the doubters to take the chance and start their own business.

You would be surprised at how many people l have tried to help for free that never even got started then blamed me for rubbish information, the same information that l use every day to make money, which leaves me to think that there are some people who are just not cut out for the internet world.

Nicho,

I was originally searching for information about "Interviews" and thrilled to have landed on this thread. Thank you for the great ideas! :D

Hi Digital it's a while since l have been in the forum but l will answer your post re interviews.

I am not sure how many members are inside the BHW forum and whilst a lot of them say they are experts your bound to find a few experts who you could interview and put together a package that you do a 50/50 share on, it would even have enough BHW members for you to offer an upsell and start a BHW world insiders members site.

It's all there for you to persue......good luck.
