Hey guys, I know that bots have been created to play poker and other card games, but has anyone seen or heard about a bot that plays pool at sites like h**p://www*poolsharks*com ?
I'd love to get some input and see if there is something already out there, or is this a new avenue for money making.

Except in pool, the bot can calculate with exceptional accuracy how to hit the balls. Relatively easy when you have all the variables (like chess bots).

As for extracting data from the 3D client, not so easy, you have no screen scrapping, and you need the position of every ball, table size, forces applied on them, etc.

I've used a bot to play yahoo pool. it wasnt fully automated, but it did a pretty darn good job of showing you what would happen to the balls before the shot. Last time i used it was 5+ years ago so i'm not sure if it's still around. Dont even remember the name of it... sorry. But, I do know that it is possible!
