Plimus is SCAM, BEWARE

I registered in Plimus since December 2010, but never used them until 4 days ago. I heard "Plimus scam" in various forums, but I thought I'd give them a try and use their service.

Just yesteday, I got email from them. In that email, they think that my website is incomplete and my product lacks of detail. They asked me to respond or they'll close my account in 2 days. I responded immediately. To be honest, I don't like the way they told me this because they "threaten" if I don't respond, they'll close my account.

Eventually, they suspended my account with $200 in it just because according to them my website is incomplete and the product lacks of detail. Would you believe it? "According to them". And they recommended me to use different payment processor.

I don't want to argue with them because if the term is "according to them", eventually it will be my words against their words, and I better use my time to make money more rather than playing their childish game and $200 is not that much.

In fact, this could be good sign to me, because for example, if I have had several thousands and it's frozen, it would be worse. Now I don't have intention of doing business with them, both as vendor or affiliate.

What makes me even think they're lousy scammer is, they should have reviewed my product and website in the first place or when I got my first purchase, not after the business has run, especially with funds in it. Even if I?m missing something, a "good guy" would at least tell me what I?m missing and give me time to fix it. The fact they just gave me immediate suspend is scammy.

They're impolite, rude and annoying. My advice for you guys, STAY AWAY FROM PLIMUS. Not just they're DOUCHEBAG, they're also SCAMMER. I do believe they will make lousy excuses just to rip people off. Just gooogle for "plimus scam" and see what you'll find. No wonder several days ago, they got DDOS attack.

That is very poor of plimus, they could have handled the situation in a much smarter way.

Now they have $200 in their balance book but 1 unhappy customer that have started a thread that will be seen by potentially thousands of could-be customers that might think twice about using their services. So gained $200 lost potentially $20K....


Personally I think its just early days for them... just like when PP was new and run by monkey.... they had very poor customer service and terrible ways of dealing with matters, but I hear they have grown since then to something quite decent. Too bad I had to pay the price from back when they were noobs

Lol... Plimus isn't a scam. They may be a p.i.t.a. the deal with and they don't really get the whole affiliate marketing side of things. But they're not a scam (a word that seems to get thrown around whenever someone does something that somebody else doesn't like).

It's like that line in The Princess Bride... "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."

I'm not a big fan of Plimus as a payment processor... but they are one of the bigger software / digital product processors. They are used by thousands of vendors and they are a reputable company. They've been around for years and years. Not a scam.

When I was choosing a Payment Processor, I was really thinking of picking Plimus.

However, after a few "Plimus is a Scam" thread, I decided to go with 2checkout.

I had to pay $50 for the account setup (which for many of you is good, because you know the system isn't full of newbies wasting human resources) but it is an awesome payment processor.

lol Plimus IS scam. In my case, the suspension was not necessary. If I'm missing something, they could have told me what I'm missing and give me time to fix it. I'm new registered member to them and I used their service only this once, of course if I'm a little bit confused about a thing or two is normal.

Just think about it, if they suspend several people's account with the funds frozen inside, they will get more money rather than % they get from using their service. Here's what I found in different forum, Plimus scamming in action:

Once again, and I confirm that Plimus is 100% scam. People, stay away from this company. I have been telling all other software vendors I know about this TRUE STORY.

Our experience

My company has used Plimus for over 3 years. I can tell you that they have some of the worst customer service I have ever seen. They frequently flag orders for manual review, where it can remain in limbo for days. Obviously this drives the customer crazy (and us). When you open a trouble ticket to tell them that the customer is known to you and has purchased before, they simply close the trouble ticket with no response and no action.

What's worse is that they will sometimes not pay you what they owe you, with a bogus explanation that the funds need to be held in reserve.

We are currently looking for a new payment processor. Would have done it a long time ago but it is a major ordeal changing the whole payment system. If you are thinking about using Plimus,
think again.

Based on your definition then PayPal is also a scam (froze $120,000 of mine because they could and they had questions about what I was doing). ANY merchant account will do that. It's not a scam. Scam is fraud. Plimus is not a fraudulent company.

I totally agree that their service sucks and their manual order review is terrible and their ordering process is archaic. I would never use them personally. But they are not a fraudulent company.

I'm not trying to protect Plimus. I don't like them as a processor. And they have plenty of unhappy customers. And plenty of happy customers.

I've had accounts frozen with significant amounts of money by both Amazon and PayPal. In both cases I was irate. I both cases I felt like they had no right to withhold *my* money.

And, in both cases, they have policies and procedures in place to protect their business interests. I don't agree with them. But that doesn't make them a scam or fraudulent. It makes them a poor choice for certain people.

Also, in both cases I eventually resolved the issue and got paid. As UtlimateSEO mentioned you will probably have the same result if you do what they ask.

And, in the future, don't use them again. They suck.

Each situation may be different, but I have been using them for 2 years with no problem what so ever. They did suspend one of my sites before, but I take credit for my faults, it was because of my layout. But I have been using them and been promptly paid for 2 years with my other site. Your situation may be a little bit different, but they are definately not a scam. If u think they are a scam, then try paypal

I kinda like their setup for what i'm doing, i've been searching for something just like them in case something like this happened to me.

They should be changing their method to work like 2checkout. No approval until your website is complete and reviewed. Fair for all.

They are not scam. Just read their guidelines and contact them after completing your website and hopefully you get the account back and get the payment.

btw, they are too expensive in terms of commission and they take so long to verify orders. Get another solution. for example 2checkout is way cheaper and accepts paypal and approves orders within few hours.

Plimus is hardly a scam, it sounds like you don't have much experience with payment processors and their
risk assesment/quality guidelines. They let you sell just about anything so if they turned you down based
on "quality" you really must not have your shit together..

Plimus are not a scam.

If idiots are on other forums also saying "plimus scam", well you get idiots saying everything is a scam somewhere on the internet.

I'm dealing with a few morons like this in my list building and tonight I started talking to one. I should've just ignored him.


It is easy to believe counter-opinions. I say you should not. Plimus are not scammers.

I have heard great things about them. What is the advantage over Paypal? And can you easily get paid by bankwire or do you havbe to jump through some hoops?

Their advantage over paypal is that they do have much less country restrictions and they do fraud check on the order for you to minimize the fraud. but their fees is almost double paypal fees.

I have been using Plimus more than 3 years and everything is ok.

For plimus, all I can say is they suck.
I used to order Death capcha many times with them, but I got one time the order didn't go through since I used different IP.
I sent them an email explaining the situation but didn't get the right answer. I told them why there is stupid service which didn't know that I am regular clients (since I orders many times). You know what, they blocked my account. I cannot use that account to order anything from Death capcha.
Now I never use Death capcha even they give me free credits.

Is that so hard to see that Plimus is fraudulent company? If you see here: http://anonym.to/?http://www.complaintsboard.com/?search=plimus , there are 117 results for Plimus and I read many times they've been doing unauthorised charges.

I also believe they freeze several accounts on purpose to get $$$. Of course they wouldn't do it 10 times out of 10 cases otherwise it would be too blatant. They probably just do it once or twice out of 10 cases. That's why some say they're scam some say they are not.

They also can easily change their terms without notification and voila suddenly you're violating their terms and your account frozen with money inside. Their term of use page is set "noindex" means there'll be no cache of that page. So no one wouldn't know what their terms were.

If you see their technical contact even in different state. Isn't that weird?

I also heard that although they have postal address in US, but they're not US company and they're based and hosted off-shore with unknown location. Some said they're from Cyprus, some said they're from Egypt, some said they're from Israel, no one knows for sure.

Plimus is shit i wouldnt bother with them

Plimus is really bad payment processor. they approve payment so lately and some time deny the payment.

I will recommended to you use moneybookers marchant service with the service you can accept Credit/debit card payment Internationally even with usa customers.
