Well, if you ever change your mind about your to-go host, do not go for "popular" services such as GoDaddy or HostGator - they are cheap, but US-based, which means if you are in breach of even the littlest copyright infringement, they can shut down your site.

I personally used Sharkservers - you can find them in the Marketplace. Quite reliable.

Namecheap for the beggining
For a new website that i don't know if the website will succeed or not, i start with namecheap (it's about $19 the first year with hosting+domain (in .com) + free whois)
Then, if the website succeed, i take a better hosting, mostly a managed VPS. here a comparison for managed vps http://www.findthebest.website/vps/10-best-managed-vps/
