To me it just looks like steady and consistant SEO - they have been steadily building backlinks from strong domains over the past 9-12 months and at the same time they have been building relevant content based on good keyword research.

Not sure if we are talking about the same website, but I hopped on Semrush to get an idea what you are talking about, and it seems like what other forum user was talking about, it's just a consistent and quality SEO work being done on the site, I see a prety sizeable rise of traffic from February. THe biggest wave is seen on September, which might be an indicator of site finally getting back on it's feet after merely racking in 300-400 visitors. Sorry to beat around to bush like this, but It might just be an SEO specialist or SEO specialist group just doing their job right lol. If anyone else has their insights, it'd be awesome to hear.

There have been some google updates and some sites may be favored from the update. Also they may be using blackhat methods such as PBNs to boost their website.
