If FB.com was sold on the regular market, it'd be worth a few thousand bucks. But Facebook really wanted it, so it was sold for millions.
If you're lucky that some investor really wants your domain name, it may be worth a ton of money.
If nobody wants that specific name, it's not worth anything, unless it has traffic and revenue.
