I am currently using business plan which is costing me 12$/months . So far It's according to my needs . I am looking for an upgrade to Premium VPS Tier1 which is 13.50$/month. Any suggestion? A VPS would be better than business web hosting?

A VPS would be a much better way to go as you are on a shared server with the business plan and on a VPS your resources would be isolated so no one else would be using your machines capabilities.

The discount will be applied on purchase for the amount of time you choose. This is not a recurring fee or discount. For example, If you purchase for 3 years the discount will be for 3 years.

I'd be careful with Hostwinds. I signed up with them on a previous Black Friday deal and 7 months later they emailed me saying my price was too low, they were going to have to raise it, yes it was supposed to be a recurring discount but they need to be profitable and then upped it by 150%. Additionally, despite what they have posted here they will not honor this for existing customers. Here's what they claim on their post at the beginning...

"Eligible for Term Extensions (You Can Upgrade to Annually and Get The Whole Year 75% Off!)"

Yet when I emailed them to extend my current hosting for a year and lock in this discount, they came up with some fine print...

"Term extensions are allowed on Shared and Business hosting only".

Stay away. If you get a deal they'll just jack it up later, and they won't honor what they've written here.

I am with hostwinds from 30/11/2014 and i had no major problems. Of course some days i had trouble but all bad things fixed in no time. Their customer service is very good and supportive even if some days i have the feeling that new faces work there and don't know the House Rules. But As Company Hostwinds is great and add valuable toys like backup to Big Online Company and The Best Thing It Is Free.
Ohh I forgot i have the recurring 50% discount with them until now.

Yes, If I'm talking about their support and way to tackles it's awesome, I spent sometime with host winds by purchasing some of VPS but I consider host winds is expensive for VPS fans cause it offers very very low disk space even after operating system installation no one can lot of things to download or manage cause of disk space, only reason left to pay more to go higher.

Long story short:

got charged for 2 servers I wouldn't renew so I asked for refund. I wasn't granted a refund so opened a paypal dispute. Hostwinds suspended all services and I've been charged 2 times $63 usd and still my shared hosting account is suspended.

Want to know what else I need to do to reestablish the hosting account.

I really don't want to open a shitlist as I've been with you (hostwinds) for a few years now.


this is same as what I experienced on last black friday, Hostwinds charged me 3 times automatically and scammed me $548, shame on them!!
Be carefull and Never use Hostwinds!!! they will keep all your payment information and use them to scamm you in future.
