Hi, this is not a 'blog post publishing' service, links are placed directly on homepages to pass the maximum link-juice - about subscription, yes it have to be kept active or the links will be replaced by others (at the moment we are keeping a maximum of 8/10 OBL per domain).

I don't think is a good deal for a site in a so different niche .. i suggest you to try with links related to your niche, or at least generic, arts and entertainment, news ..something for which you can insert your link naturally.
