Hi Abyssal,

First I'd like to apologize for the lack of prompt replies this week in the thread. I see our customer support guys sent numerous replies over email but unfortunately they forgot to check the thread this week so we've all talked about it and made it first priority for them to get on here and check it twice a day going forward.

I also apologize if there were any bugs you ran into this week. We rolled out a sizeable update to the code infrastructure a few days ago and it looks like you hit a few snags during that rollout.

Sorry this reply didn't come sooner, but both owners (myself and Kevin) have been out of town in Austin this week at an SEO mastermind.

Regarding the spinning issue, we sent you a very detailed email on Nov 4th. Here's a brief excerpt: "If you do not provide your own Spintax in an article, then yes, the system will spin them each time they go out to cut down on duplicate content going out." It appears to me that the majority of your complaints are regarding our auto-spinning feature. Since you have such precise spinning requirements, all you have to do is provide your own spintax when you submit an article. We're certainly open to integrating a new spinner at some point, but we're working on some other pretty sweet updates currently.

Now to help you out, let's talk about your campaign for a moment without disclosing any details. You've been building all your links straight to your homepage without deep-linking, and all your keywords are ultra-competitive one-word short-tail keywords. According to Majestic, your website also appears to have had close to zero SEO work done on it in the past, i.e. no authority whatsoever. This is a recipe for disaster my friend. I have no problem with the niche you're in, but you have to realize that you're doing it wrong.

Regarding the other, aged site in your account, you should take a look at it on majestic. Your anchor texts are not nearly diverse enough. You should build random anchors, long-tails and naked links for a couple months to dilute it. I would bet that you were hit by penguin because of the overall distribution of your anchors.

You seem very hyper-sensitive to the links you're building. But your problem is with a lack of site authority. Majestic gives your site a trust flow of 1. That is a massive problem. If you built some authority links then you wouldn't be running around like a chicken with your head cut off, getting sandboxed all the time. Do some press releases, get some homepage links and some high-PR network links first.

I am not surprised at all that you claim another vendor got your site sandboxed in the past. You handed him the formula for a sandboxing and he delivered it to you.

Finally, the reason we refunded you was because you have been complaining about everything non-stop since you joined. You alarmed our customer support rep to the point where he was actually texting me at 11pm about it. We pay our customer support people to help our customers, not to be human punching bags. Everything is a code red with you and simply put, we are not making money off of your $127/mo because in the past 4 days you have been a support nightmare. We are running a business, not a charity and while it pains me to turn away business, in your case it made sense.

To anyone else following this thread, I beg you to please make use of our customer support agents. We have dealt with thousands of customers and this is one of less than a handful of instances where we've even considered refunding a customer on purpose. It just didn't seem like a good fit.

I hope that clears everything up, and I'm sorry I wasn't around this week to get to this sooner.

wow buddy, well thanks for that.

I'm guessing you know about the 3 other high authority domains that are 2+ years old. Which are 301'd to my main domain now.

I guess I know nothing about SEO though, considering I've been sitting in top spot for the past 2 years. Hmm, not at all.

I set your service to my NEW domain, and yes I didn't deeplink in your campaign, because i use OTHER tools on my own. Gsa, Senuke, MS, etc. on other DOMAINS that are 301'd to deep links. I have plenty of authorative links built properly.

I got sandboxed from this latest update after 2 years of sitting in top spot dominating my ranks, ONLY after this guy spammed a bunch of links, the same as your (ie, your 20,000 link wiki blast) with a spintax below 30% and titles that were almost exactly duplicate.

That's the kind of damage he did, and that's EXACTLY what your service just did. Haven't seen the effects really, was hoping your quacklinks guy that did a stupid 20k blast didn't mass ping the links as well...

You realize something like that's not penguin passable? Right?
Please answer this question specifically in your rebuttal, so that the forum knows of your concept of this.

Now, my other domains have a mozrank of 4+, and those domains, well... I was not willing to throw into a new service like yours without testing it out. Neither with my tiers.

you wouldn't be running around like a chicken with your head cut off, getting sandboxed all the time.

Great assumption, very professional. You've been dating me for a week and you can tell the extent of my link profiles and history of my site due to a simple majesticseo search that comes up with minimal keywords for a new domain.

Right... Because out of the 2+ years that I've been in top spot, in my ultra competitive niche. (dominating competitors) I've been running around with my head cut off.
And I have no high quality tiers what-so-ever. No 75+ high pr's with unique articles, low footprint if any, etc.. not what so ever.

No idea how to do SEO.

And yes, $127 doesnt warrant the volume of complaints about your service. But I was intending to spend the $3000 on your services if it was impressive, hense the emails asking for quality link building services. I'd definitely say spending $36,000 a year warrants the emails I sent you to make sure that your services were setup properly. Specially on one of my other niches that's worth around 150k a month to me.

You know, when I asked if your keyword randomization and diversity included things like capital letters; keyword, KEYWORD, Keyword. ETC. Things that look natural to google when people blog, and definitely is a factor.

You essentially told me that it wasn't necessary. Of course long tails, and click here, and quality blah blah blah help are included in your service. But the links I were getting were just straight garbage in regards to diversification.

Honestly, I don't mind going through and setting up the thousands of manual keyword variations I need to use. Just scrapebox and add, not hard. But you guys can't even confront the issue as if it matters.

I admit, a few of the link campaigns went out to what seem like proper seo's, (building links slowly, completing a blast over the period of a week or two) but that quacklinks service was just SPAMMED to shit.

And on top of that, the spam has no fucking usernames, login info, etc. Which isn't really hard to get if you have proper bots.

You handed him the formula for a sandboxing and he delivered it to you.

Well, that's exactly what you did when you handed my links over to quacklinks and they spammed 20k links in a single night.
20,000 fucking links in one day? Are you kidding!? This isnt 2010 where you can xrumer and scrapebox blast your money and tier 1's to the top.

Guess it might help with bing and yahoo, but really who cares about them?

Many of them with 3-4 keywords in the footer... When I never specified 3-4 keywords at all, most I want is 1-2. AND the keyword randomization (which I set in the settings to around 38%) Ended up being my keywords with the word QUALITY in front of them, and the other random click here keywords were like 4-5 changed up. That's not diverse...

Specially with spintax below 30%. That is FAR from achieving expectations. And yes, I admit it's my bad for submitting your guys own article without knowing how to add the spintax article, but cmon... Your automation system should be spinning at least 45-50%

I dunno, try integrating spinnerchief cloud thesaurus API? Something decent that spins more then a word 3 times every 5-8 words.

Explain to me how 20k links in one night to a bunch of open wikis, and below 30% spintax is good for seo, and instead of demonizing my own SEO methods. Let's get back to the point about YOUR SERVICES, not my own efforts to my site or my link building strategies.

Seriously, I think the whole forum would love to hear your theory on how 20k wiki links to a homepage is beneficial? I used your services and did the easy setup. No where in your tutorials do you say not to put my homepage in the links, so articulate on this please.

we are not making money off of your $127/mo because in the past 4 days you have been a support nightmare

So are you saying my concerns are not valid? 20k links without logins and asking if it's going mass pinged is a nightmare? Imagine how I must feel when see this shit on a $7 free trial promising great things. Potential for penalties instead... Hmm?

I wonder if any of the other people with $127 accounts, or anything larger are asking the same questions, and if they are... Then what's your response to them, do you refund them too when they have valid concerns about new updates that are clearly very strict on black hat methods.

Hey --

This is Kevin, the other owner of Link Emperor. I don't want this conversation to take over this thread, but since you asked for a response, I feel like you deserve one and I wanted to give you one.

I assume that the blast that you're complaining about is Blast #859963. First, that blast had 1,968 links built, not 20,000. I bring that up because if you're going to pillory us on the forum, you shouldn't exaggerate by a factor of 10.

For that service, the reason that we build so many links in one blast is because the blast is able to accept up to 50 separate URL/keyword pairs for links. That was not 1,968 links to a single keyword and URL. It was 1,968 links to FIFTY separate combinations of keyword/URL. Since you only had 4 URLs in our system, we were only able to use 4 separate URLs, but we did use the full 50 keywords. If you had 50 URLs in our system, you would have seen those links spread out between 50 separate URLs.

It's my position that linkbuilding to a keyword/URL combo on about (1968 / 50) = ~40 wikis is not really a problem.

If you don't like the bigger blasts though, you are free to disable Wiki blasts in your settings.

As we explained via email, our diversification works across blasts, not within the same blast. Over time, you should expect to see the diversity that you asked for.

I do agree with your comment about spin quality and it is very much on our todo list to improve spin and article quality. Please understand though that we operate at a level of volume that makes it much harder to do things that seem simple. A number of the spinner APIs that we've tried simply aren't able to keep up with our volume. We'll keep looking at this in the future.

Also, we are currently running a beta that will do tiered link building and direct those bigger blasts entirely to buffer sites that we automatically build. If you're interested in getting involved in that beta, please let us know and we'll get you set up. I'll extend that offer to anyone else from BHW as well.

I have to say, I've been using LE for about 4/5 months straight and its pretty amazing. I'm on one their senator program and I will explain why I'm not on their Emperor program.

Reasons why I like LE:
1. Hands down, best customer service in SEO.. Period.. If I have a problem, or if there is a glitch, billing issue, or random question, its answered really fast.

2. The automation is such a key critical component. I have quite a handful of clients and it makes my life so much easier without having to shop around for other gigs. Yes, I still pay for some other stuff to change it up, but thats to give it variety.

3. Integration with analytics and 3rd party APIs. Again, makes my life super easy so I don't have to submit articles, or add keyword lists.

4. Their distribution system is pretty simple. Once you learn the system, and you know how to distribute your credits across multiple clients, it makes it very easy after the setup.

5. They give webinars for people to watch and also record them so you can review later. Also, they did an account review for me, to check on the quality of what I'm doing, making sure I'm on the right track. Seriously, nobody else does that.

Why I don't pay for the top tier:

1. There's no incentive except that you get more campaigns to setup.
2. If you're paying that much more money, you should be given more of the top tier options, also priority submitting, or whatever else can provide just that extra edge.
3. Client login is pretty worthless. I thought I would try to get that setup, but when I did a test, it definitely doesn't have anything to impress. If you guys are able to integrate SEO Moz campaigns along with Analytics and an SEM Rush account, it would be amazing.
4. Social Signals is weak.. I should highly recommend doing a partnership with SocialSignifier because they have one of the best deals out there, to integrate their system with you, would make this a pretty dominant combination.

Anyway, hope this helps everyone.

Just wanted to say that, while I haven't been using Link Emperor long, I have seen impressive improvement. I have to be honest and say that I was one of those leechers that set up around 4 of the $7 trials and canceled them right away lol. Just to try it out on some of our own websites, as we test everything on our websites before using them for clients, and all my pages moved up in rank.

These include:

  • A large metro city SEO keyword that literally wasn't in the top 500 results. It peaked at about 30 and is sitting at 42 or 48 now. This is the result of work done in the 7 day trial, and we haven't had SEO going on this site for several months now.
  • A large metro city Google+ Local keyword (for a mid-competition industry) that moved up 3 pages within the Google+ Local (Places) results.

Because of that we're now on the Senator plan for some of our huge clients.

Hi Nivonuke!
Thanks for the kind words!

It's great to hear that our customers enjoy our software as much as we do!

We also appreciate the feedback that you, and all of the BHW members provide to us.

Some of the features you mentioned we are still looking to improve (Like Social Signals), and others are great for some, but not for all.

For example, we have many clients that LOVE Link Emperor for our Branded Client Login. It is by far the easiest way to let your clients take a look at all of their own link reports. If the alternative is sending these reports out manually to each customer, I would choose the Branded Client Login.

But you're right, not everyone is going to need or want it. But we will definitely take your suggestions of SEO Moz campaigns and Analytics into consideration!

And as the Emperor level plan is basically the same as Senator, but with more Campaigns, Credits, Targets, Keyword etc... The only benefit is the fact that you will be able to manage more clients down the road.

Please know that we take this feedback very seriously and use it to help make our product even better. It is because of customers like you that we are able to provide such a great all-in-one service with the features that you know and love. And trust me, there are many more great features to come! Stay tuned... :)

Thanks again, nivonuke!
