You can check the thread history - I talked about it since a very long time - I guess before 4.4 (it should always be in the nearest relase).

so how does this compare to deathbycaptcha? Its my current mainstay, but it sounds like this would be a better value

Much better value ... Captcha Sniper is a one-time fee at only $77 for a lifetime license. It is currently the most accurate desktop OCR based solver available.

Death by Captcha is a human solving service, so its quite a bit different in nature.

It will really depend on the type of captchas you are wanting solved. CS has more than 850 types built in, but also has the ability to add them on your own in its Captcha Desctruction Kit feature.
 
Interested in buying but have a quick question. I have multiple VPS running SEO software and want to run CS on them. But would it require multiple license for CS? Or can I buy it once and it will work for these different VPS?

Just like all other SEO software, you will need to purchase a license for each machine. Yes, some apps allow you to run 2 copies but this is also reflected and built into the initial price.

CS first license has the best pricing for this type of product: only $77 for a lifetime license.

The good news is that EVERY license after the initial pruchase is only $47/each :)

If its the type were you must click on the correct picture related to the a question like 'click on the picture of a motorcycle', then Im sorry, no, CS does not handle this type. If its a standard type of captcha, then its a very good possibility ;)

If you are referring to using CSSE along with CS to emulate DBC, only the interface for it was removed (caused too much confusion).. you can still do it ... change the port in CS to 88 and then launch CSSE from the CS folder. Additional information is available in the CS help file avaialble from the help pull down menu ;)
