is it just me or does it seem that Captcha Sniper is reporting all reCaptcha attempts as successful solves? Watching it do it's thing, and even when it attempts to solve and gets it way off, it still adds a captcha solved +1 in the counter! You guys seeing this? If so, how are we supposed what if anything is being solved correctly?

Did you take a look at the Mollom captchas? They are very hard to crack. But a lot of authority Drupal blogs use Mollom.

CS has always counted an answer(wrong or right) in the solved count. There is no count for 'Solved Correctly' because its never reported back to CS if it was right or wrong. You can always select 'save solved captchas' from the settings menu, which will save the solved captchas and their answer as part of the file name, if you wish to audit this yourself.

Seems to me that Captcha Sniper is incrementing the CURRENT SOLVED field even when its not really solving the captcha.

HAS ANYONE NOTICED THIS?

I was watching captcha sniper and noticed this happening alot. This would account to seeing over 10,000 solved captchas in the 12hrs period. I dont believe there are that many even with all the definitions iv added.

YEP, CS is counting all recaptchas as SOLVED. I can verify this. I just wrote about it too.

I did read the post above which is why i verified it and answered but in my opinion this is not right!

This is not only happening with Recaptcha types. Its happening with all the other types as well along with the message, captcha type not solvable by service. Increment 1.

Again, this has been the way this counter works since the product launched over a year ago. This counter only increments when CS gives an answer, be it right or wrong. And again, there is no 'solved correctly' counter since CS has no idea if the answer it give is correct or not. This is why solve rates are published and are highly accurate, being tested on 1000 captchas for each type (hardcoded, built in types).

For GSA, all you need to do is launch CS. GSA sends the info about which captcha type needs to be solved so there is no need to select any captcha types.

The settings options are as follows:

1. Use host file redirect: this redirect calls to de-captcher.com to CS. So if you want to use de-captcher.com as your second service, you will deselect this option. This applies to de-captcher.com only, the other services such as Death By Captcha are not redirected.

2. Use Clean Image Algorithms - this is deprecated. You can just leave this deselected. At one time, some apps would convert the captcha image before sending it, which cause the image to be degraded and of lesser quality, which in turn required a different algorithm.

3. Use CSSE - definitely not needed for GSA. You can just leave this deselected. This is a seperate app that adds emulation for Death By Captcha, Bypass Captcha, Anti Captcha (Antigate). It also emaultes de-captcher.com for direct sockets mode. Additionallly, it has a qeueing (threading) mechanism. Most of the top IM apps have CS integrated directly, so this is not required.

4. Save Unknown Captchas - just as it says. This options saves unknown captchas so that you can add them to CDK and create your own solving algorithm.

5. Save Solved Captchas - just as it says. This option saves solved captchas in case you would like to audit the performance of CS.

6. Let Captcha Sniper Try To Solve Unknown Captchas - just as it says. This feature will attempt to solve unknown captcha types and use the existing algorithm set when sizes match up. You will still have the ability to receive 'unknown' for types that do match sizes for existing algorithms. In addition a generic algorithm was introduced handle monochrome / black and white captchas. I would recommend using this options with GSA.

Maybe a silly idea, but have you tried to crack the audio ReCaptcha, instead of the image ReCaptcha? ReCaptcha has an image and audio version of the same captcha. CS could have an internal audio player and it could use an advanced speech to text algorithm. But that would require a lot of CPU power I guess

Which is easier, breaking the image or the audio ReCaptcha?

It's been done after some clever people found a flaw in the audio algorithm...then Google changed the audio style. I tried listening to some audio captchas myself and couldn't understand a thing!

Since its Death By Captcha, it won't matter if it selected or not. It only matters if its de-captchaer.com

Neither one are easy. Currently CS is set up to only receive images from calling applications, and likewise calling apps are only set up to send images, so there would be a ton of work to be done on both sides.

I just bought this program, and when I tried to download the setup file, I'm getting "the archive is either in unknown format or damaged" so I can't extract or run setup.exe. How do I fix this?
