for the thread, i'll post the overall monthly searches vs competition for my primary keywords.
1 - GMS = 673,000 RES= 79,300,000
2 - GMS = 246,000 RES= 54,300,000
3 - GMS = 201,000 RES= 49,700,000
4 - GMS = 246,000 RES= 71,400,000
5 - GMS = 60,000 RES= 39,700,000 (already #6)
im still quite a noob but have dabbled for a while, what is everyones opinion on those numbers baring in mind i dont think any of my competitors are dong active SEO, they have simply been around quite a while or are forums etc,
with 3 weeks mild effort we hit top 10 on one of our primary keywords (5)

Not sure if you noticed it but today you moved to #1 for your primary keyword and to #1 & #3 for your 2 secondary ones so progress is very good in your case but like with all client orders at this moment we are unfortunately a bit behind schedule.
