Guys,

I have tried to search the thread to no avail.

Is there a way after posting you can see if any of your comments have gone live straight away?

Suiddenly starting getting terrible results from Google. Left a url harvest going last night.. 321,000 from yahoo ....less than 300 from google....than 300!!!

Did a quick harvest a short time ago 83,000 from google........ 47,000- yahoo and 31,000 from bing.

Yes use the 'Check Links' routine in the bottom right quadrant of SB.

Yeah. You can use the Check Links feature if you want. But couple words of advice - many sites have moderation in place, meaning your comments won't always go live right away. Also cookies on your system from sbox runs can focker up your perceived results in general, so running ccleaner on a regular basis is highly advised (highly advised any way, sbox user or not, it's a great little app).

When I check, it's usually not for a few days after a run. Unless I'm just looking for some instant gratification or testing something new.

Greg, thanks for your advice about updating to the latest version, I think it's worked. Getting much healthier results now.

Also, what keywords are you are looking for to get that many results back? I search for a pretty competitive niche keyword or two but I only ever get 2-3000 tops. Or am I just not using it right?

Steve.

Okay hope it helped, seems like a few people had issues with goog yesterday...

as far as keywords, and how many results you get back, couple things:

1 - what # do you have in the Results box? (main interface, under Select Engines & Proxies); and are you harvesting from all 4 SE's?
2 - are you using the Timeline feature to limit? if not, don't worry about it, it's a matter of personal preference - it can constrain results to only those indexed by each SE during certain intervals, but if you're not using it, it wouldn't be a gating factor)
3 - being the lazy sod that I am, here's how I usually cook up my harvest kw's:
a - type in a few words or phrases that are relevant to my backlinks
b - search on goog or bing for one or more of those and see what the most frequent ads target for kw's and add those
c - copy all my kw's/phrases into the Keyword Scraper (copy your keywords from the main UI, click the Scrape button @ the bottom of the Harvester area, and paste them in), then scrape all the sources for related phrases - after that scrape is done, remove duplicate keywords (there's a button for it - sweetfunny's UI is like Staples - "That wasy easy") and add them to the main keyword list

You should end up with a lot results from that process. Yes, fair warning, you'll end up with duplicate domains - duh - but they're easy enough to remove (and nothing will throw you in the spam bin faster than slamming 20-30 comments onto one blog, so use that remove dupe feature)

also I've noticed that the keyword scraper is a bit fuzzy (e.g. if you're scraping for "seo" you can end up with phrases like "Seoul Korea") so I sometimes clean out the kw list before harvesting...but sometimes not, since I'm so incredibly lazy....I like the fuzzy logic it uses overall, just something I've noticed about certain keywords....

Hi again Greg

Wow, thanks I didn't expect such a comprehensive response.

1. I only select 100 results, I guess that would be a big thing with this.
2. Yes I've been using the timeline to more recent results mainly because older results might be less likely to accept comments I thought. But I'll give it a shot on older results too.
3. Brilliant advice there, simple, as you say, lazy, but brilliant. Greg, you're my new best friend!

I'll give all this a shot. Thanks again for being so helpful with this. I'm really hoping this tool will help a lot (and I use the word tool because, as I think you've posted before, that's what it is, it also requires some creativity and brain cells).

Steve.

ping mode does not show up in g00gle analy+ics ...visitor count stays the same. I guess it only shows in AWstats

Lol Pinging is not for increasing your stats :P You're pinging special servers and sending them your site url, you're not pinging your site.

By the way, I hope this isn't a silly question, but I have, thanks to gregstereo, taken more advantage of Scrapebox and gathered over 100,000 links, but from the list I'll want to send out under 10,000 per day / every couple of days. Is there a way to keep this list in Scrapebox but only send out 9/10,000, whilst keeping the others for a later time, or would I have to save the links out (which I do anyway) and modify the saved text file, so I am only putting 10,000 into Scrapebox each time?

Cheers
Steve.

@honeyandthemoon - No, the silly question would have been "I harvested over 100,000 links and blasted a single un-spun comment to all of them right out of the gate. Why did so many of them get blocked as spam?" ;)

Others may have their own methods, but my preference is to use batch keyword cleaner to split lists like that into separate files, then load them one at a time into sbox for use. Take a look in the 33k rapid index backlink method thread....which while I was searching for it I see you just commented in. There's some info in there about batch keyword cleaner.

PM sent just want to ask.. do you provide a tutorial with it ???
will it be easy to use this tool if a person is not familiar with proxies ????

Take a look here: http://www.youtube.com/user/scrapebox

There's a couple of hours of video's covering the basics you can watch before buying, overall i think it's fairly easy to use but it does have tons of features so it will take you a while to explore them all. :)

How do you harvest so many links, I thought search engines and scrapebox restrict to 1000?

I'll give you a free copy of ScrapeBox of you can show me how to browse Google beyond 1,000 results in your browser deal?

ScrapeBox does not restrict anything. ;)

I still remember when we were kids and we used to go for new or famous chocolate, ice-cream or toy in market. How excited we used to be ....
Same is with me now....
Just got one for me....

Yes that's true, it scraped from the Google Suggest feature so it will give the popular queries starting with seo... however here's a trick with that i thought i'd mention because it can be quite useful:

http://i39.tinypic.com/2w3dy6o.png

If you type SEO then add a space instead of words starting with the letters seo, it will bring back "seo something" and be mostly all relevant.

And youradded, try the keyword scraper and pull hundreds of keywords then send them back to the harvester and you will now get hundred of thousands of harvested results.

95% of your links were removed due to too many similer keywords.

i get this all the time is there anyway you can remove it or something as none of the urls are even duplicates but it deletes them anyway

hi,
Is there anyone using scrapebox at netbook?
I want to buy the scrapebox since its price is $47. now it is $57.:(
But my friend told me that scrapebox can't be used at netbook.
