I am getting SLAUGHTERED by Akismet!

How's everyone's proxies doing against Akismet?

You guys may have known this, but my Akismet problem was caused due to Fast poster mode!

I jumped onto my buddy's wireless, and tried doing one post to my blog with ScrapeBox. Marked as spam.

I then posted a normal comment in Firefox, and it was accepted! So my neighbor's IP is fine.

So after that, I went into ScrapeBox, forced Slow Commenting mode, and boom, it worked. So in case you didn't know, stay out of Akismet by going with slow commenting mode.

Unfortunately, my own IP is banned by Akismet and I'm having problems getting my Verizon FIOS router to give me a new one. Looks like I'll be buying proxies and sticking with slo-mo-mode

Did you manually check if fast mode didnt stick? Because like I said fast mode seems to have an error and marks successful comments as not successful. Did you check this?

Erm....we are moving into an area that is a bit complex, but there are some hacks/tweaks that can make a Winblows box run the interwebby faster. Not sure they will help in your case, but for starters have a look in the event viewer and see if you're getting any TCP warnings or errors about thresholds being exceeded.

Now if you're manually commenting to BlogEngine targets, that platform blows dead bear so badly that it's going to be slow no matter how much you tweak. But if you're targetting other platforms, we might be able to improve your experience.

If the stuff about event viewer is Greek to you PM me, I owe you a PM any way (sorry - been a long couple of days, today being the frosting on the crap cake as I dealt with: an ill child home from school, an adult "working from home" all day, and one of the computers on the network here is fockered up beyond belief and very unstable, which in total kept me from getting much work done myself - I thought I was gonna freak out, but I survived...sedatives are a wonderful aid sometimes....ah, the quiet now....it's lovely).

Oh and generally I would caution against EVER turning off proxies when running this or any tool that scrapes or otherwise hammers web sites. I know it's a tempting thing to test when you're troubleshooting but it can do so much harm in terms of your IP getting seared into the Borg collective of the various service providers (*cough* guh-oogle *cough*).

Hey gregstereo --- thanks for the reply above.

From my tests, the manual comment mode is not even an option on my end and I think its the same on eveyones end. It just takes to long to load the web page in the internal browser during the manual posting mode. My only option is to farm this out to someone in the Philippines to do it for $1 an hour but then they wont be able to create the custom post to match the page that I was looking for by using the manual mode in the first place.

I wanted to try to manually comment using scrapebox on the high PR pages and add some custom tweeks to the comment if needed during the manual comment process.

Is ANYONE having success with the Manual Posting Mode? By success I mean, does the page load in the internal browser, populate the fields, and refresh in a reasonable amount of time? anyone?

Thanks all!!

IMO and most others that have posted here... you gotta have some good proxies for posting.

Scraped (free) proxies are ok for SE harvesting, but posting to blogs - good proxies are a MUST have.

I use slow-commenting anyway75% of the time.(but thanks for the results of your findings)

Good luck and happy hunting.

Fast mode went straight to my personal blog's spam box. Akismet got it.

I am also now using ProxyBonanza's 68 Shared IPs, and they all go straight to spam too. I'm going to ask for a refund.

Back to my buddy's IP, and I'm posting fine.

I guess I need private proxies? Still looking for a better proxy solution.

Hello, I have just bought the product, looks very good. I have started to read this gigantic thread and watch the videos..

I have also tried posting a few tests using the slow comment poster and even though it says success, when I go on the pages my comment is not there. I understand that some blogs need to approve comments but if I do it manually the comments appear instantly.

Could this be caused by the shared proxies that I am using? I have bought 8 shared ips from bonanza. Maybe these IP have been flagged on askinet?

Thanks for help.

Do some tests on your own blogs and you'll see, but yes, this is what I'm thinking.

I asked PB for 68 new IP's, or allow me to upgrade to 3 private IPs (which I assume I'll slowly blow out of the water). Otherwise I'm canceling my PB subscription. We'll see.

Maybe a noob question.
But do you guys put the keywords in the "name" field of a wordpress blog?

Or do you really aim to put anchored links in the body of the comment?

Yep ... it looks like the shared proxies at PB are burnt
I knew it wouldn't be long.

Time to upgrade to privates ... anyone tried the private proxies there (PB) ?

anyone else having proems with proxies?i cant harvest a single working proxy

I want to post comments with SB on BlogEngine Blogs, but it seems not to work anymore, it worked before.
If I use the same blog to post manually in browser , or in SB browser manually, that it works. But if I try to post automate using SB, it does not post, does anyone know what is the problem?

I'm having the same proxy problem - unable to harvest a single working proxy. Currently looking around for a source of reliable, cheap private proxies - any recommendations?

Hello to you all.
I have one problem with scrapebox i am harvesting urls with custom footpring for blogengine and allways one I start posting it starts in slow poster mode i dont know how to start fast posting can you help me

If everyone thinks the proxies are burned why should it work in manual mode then? Its using the same proxies.
On the other hand... someone here is using private proxies and so could tell us if there is a difference in sticking.

Please someone that uses private proxies post here to confirm that comment posting works before I cancel the shared proxies I have just bought to buy private proxies.

Thanks

i hear packet flips proxies are getting
banned ? all the better for me as my
proxies arnt monitored

Yes comment posting is working if you are using proxies that haven't been blocked and url's that haven't been blocked.

No that will look pretty spammy.

Yeah there is a difference. I'm in the midst of one comment run that looks like it will end up around 70-80% successful, and another one that is averaging out to about 40%. Not bad esp. considering the second run is targetting BlogEngine and its new craptacularity.
