is it necessary to test the IP after it is harvested? because everytime I test the IP security, none of the free proxies are left working...

I think it's a good idea to run the IP test when you're harvesting free proxies - one of the things it checks is to make sure that the proxy is actually anonymous and not leaking your real IP address.

In my experience the IP test does knock out a lot of the free proxies, but I don't usually end up with none. On average I end up with anywhere from 100 to 400. Are you harvesting from all of the sources or just one? I ran a test where I harvested only from Source 1 (~800 available) and harvested over 900. After the IP test I had only 18 left.

ScrapeBox basically is a scraping tool, all other features are bonuses from SweetFunny you should appreciate SF doing that for all you guys for free.

i "hate" to say it, but SB is way, way more. In fact, i think that the name he hes given the tool is somewhat "unlucky" because it implies a limited use of the tool. SB is everything BUT limited to "scraping".

I personally would market this differently and would give it a new name. Needless to say with the power it has right now i would also charge at least $97 for it and not throw it away for $47 :)

RSS Submit, Comment Posting <-- those TWO uses alone go far beyond "scraping" and there are more expensive tools out there which do ONLY that...and SB replaces them. And he adds more stuff every day.

@Doctor,

Hi - there's a few different issues in your last two posts, so I thought I'd write one reply.

First, on the issue of running ~20 instances of SB and them getting kinda confusing, yeah I can see where they would. I just noticed something myself in an attempt to see what you were seeing.

I am currently scraping URL's and am in one instance of SB. I launched another instance and I noticed that the URL's scraped so far in instance 1 are showing up in the URL's Harvested box in instance 2. Is that kinda similar to what you mean about them somewhat looking the same? Almost like some data bleeds over between instances?

While the programmer didn't limit the # of instances we could run, I also don't know how much any of us have looked at running that many instances. I usually run a few at a time but just notice that anomaly.

Excellent method you're using on mixing paid and free proxies. Very similar to what I do, and I get solid results from most commenting sprees.

I hear you about hidemyip, I wish they'd add sb to their supported list. And I agree that theoretically ScrapeBox using IE's proxy setting should allow it to work, but I'm not an expert in proxies. I submitted ScrapeBox to HMIP a few days ago as a requested app, I suspect a few others here have as well.

As for slowing down the post rate, you have a few options. One option is to throttle down the threads and connections. The other is to forces SB to always use the slow poster method. I kinda do the same thing as you - fire off a scrape or a spree and let it run for several hours while doing other things. So you might want to give that a go, the slow poster is more thorough in its attempts to post even when encountering various hardening methods on blogs.

As far as the numerous email bouncebacks regarding activation, I wonder if that also is related to the number of instances of SB you're running - as in perhaps there's an issue ScrapeBox where some kind of code collision is occuring when the different instances of the app try to validate the license concurrently. Interesting.....

peace,
gregs.

I've been experiencing this lately...everytime I harvest proxies from all sources, I harvest around 100+ proxies but after the IP test, none is left working..

Hello Sweetfunny

I have sent you a PM, waiting for your reply to go further thanks !

Sauron. :)

I was just about to edit my reply to Doctor, but I remembered one thing and realized another and then saw your reply, crack_dhat....

Back when ScrapeBox had only 3 sources for proxies, periodically for a day or two at a time, I would get no working proxies after the IP test.

A few versions ago sources 4 and 5 were added, and since then I haven't run into that.

BUT if you are only harvesting around 100 proxies, it sounds like the selected proxy sources are limited - might wanna check - click Select proxy sources and see which ones are selected.

Right before i saw your note, I was harvesting proxies and only got 109 back and realized it was because last night I had limited harvesting to source 1, and SB was still set to that, even though this time I wanted to harvest from all 5. With all 5 selected I usually end up with ~2500-3000 before testing IP.

Sources 4 and 5 really improved the # and anonymity of the free proxies. Major kudos to whoever is providing those.

gregs.

Oh I mean I use the source 4 and 5 then out of the 1000+ proxies harvested, only about 100+ are left and when the IP checker is done, there are no more working proxies left... its just kinda odd because before, when the new sources were first added, I used it immediately then around 100+ proxies are left after the IP security check.. but now, none are left after the IP check...

Actually what i meant with the 2 instances looking the same is "they LOOK the same" :-) the data is not the same. If you have the problem then make sure you make multiple copies of the Scrape box folder.
On my machine i have a main scrapebox folder and then sub scrape box folders like

Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Scraping
Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-RSS Pinger
Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Domain 1
Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Domain 2
Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Domain 3
Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Domain 4

In this folder : Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Scraping
I have just the main program and a folder called Keywords, which is then keywords for the different domains that i scrape.
So i will scrape keywords, then save the results in each domains folder and name them :
Bloglist - Wordpress
Bloglist - MOveable type
Bloglist - Blog engine

In each of my domain folders : Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-Domain 4
I will have :
Bloglist - Wordpress
Bloglist - MOveable type
Bloglist - Blog engine
Website - This i get from the sitemap of my domain i promote, so i will have say a 1000 links

A mass email list of 100 000 emails ( found it in the forum)
Related namelist ( i use wp mage ) to scrape say 5000 keywords but set it to only 2 word per keyword generated, so if my domain is about cats, i will have a name list of about 5000 looking like this :
cat food
cat milk
cat bed
cat books

The Desktop \ Scrapebox \ Scrapebox-RSS Pinger folder, well all i use that is for pinging all the links that is in the domain folders, what i do is take each domain's links, run it thru keyword manipulator and mass add /feed at the end of each link, walla a rss feed

Have some more but will post later

Thanks for the yip on the slow poster setting i will give it a try....

Thanks, i will look over everyones posts and PM's shortly but just a quick note i've uploaded v1.10.12 which contains some speed enhancements to BlogEngine.

So anyone who does a lot of BlogEngine posting, feel free to test this one and let me know how it goes.

Update is still not working when downloading the update and close instead apply update. It should install the update on next start but doesnt.

Good work at all SF. :)

What are the best places to buy proxies from that are affordable?

I am using yourprivateproxy.com

What are the best places to buy proxies from that are affordable?

I've heard or experienced good things about using ScrapeBox with:
proxybonanza
yourprivateproxy
hidemyass

and BHW members:
mrtornado
proxygo
justone
offer proxy services that I've also heard or experienced good things with.

i am ready to buy this software, but... do I really need to buy proxies for it?

Hi SF - some really great enhancements of late thanks! one thing I would like to see added if possible is the ability to export bad urls from the alive checker addon. It seems you can onl transfer the good urls to the main window but it would be really useful to export both the good and the bad to excel. Truly exceptional proggy!

Purchased today, still learning the ropes, but it's f****ng Awesome!!!
Respect guys

:)

@kuchka: buy private proxies when you want BEST BEST results. ScrapeBox can still scrape free proxies and working fine with free proxies.

I purchase ScrapeBox about a week ago and did not really done anything with it other than post comments which is easy to understand and do. Wanted to ask what other things can I do with the software?
