the pr check used to be VERY fast if i used around 50-100 connections when i use 50 connections now it uses only one of them..
i use a BIG proxy list (128) private proxies but it keeps on using only one connection...

what is going wrong?

I would be willing to bet you have the Delay set? If that's the case, only one connection will be launched every X seconds regardless how many connections you have set.

Disable delay, set "Connections" for Pagerank to 100 then click the button and you should get 100 PR lookups done in about 1.5 seconds.

looks like it was user error afterall. I already gotten a reply from supprot(insanely fast I might add) and I was thinking when you add the harvested list it saved the results to scrapebox>comment poster>blog lists.txt. Support said it saves to a virtual file and not to the file in which I thought it saved to. I apologize

Yes "Transfer" sends the URL's from one place in the app to another. Export will send them out of the app and to a file on your PC.

omg how stupid...
thanks for the advice :D

I have blog list, is any method verify broken links? like 404 code check?

Do you mean to verify blogs you have scraped are alive?

If so - do this - run the scraped list of URL's through ping mode, then export just the working URL's as your new list of blogs to mass comment on (we really need a catchy alternative to the term "spam" - I'm tired of people calling me a spammer; "reputation whore", "douchebag", "lazy geek", those I can live with, but "spammer" - that hurts; nope, me != spammer, I'm just sharing information en masse on other peoples' blogs lol)

I know this has already been asked, but the answer wasn't exactly clear: It is recommended to use a dedicated server to run ScrapeBox?

From what I've read in this thread, I get the impression that if I run it on my home PC I should buy a list of private proxies to avoid my IP getting banned. Is that right?

Hi,

I prefer to pay for the "low cost" reliable proxy services that will work with ScrapeBox out of box (paste the list and spam without running the test program) without spending too much time on dealing with "harvesting free IP addresses" or "out of proxy IP addresses" errors.

I tried few low-cost paid proxy services - none of them are giving me what I needed that will save me time.

SweetFunny - can you recommend which low-cost proxy providers who can do the decent services to work with Scrapebox? I want to run Scrapebox 7x24x365 on dedicated PC - but can't make it work because of proxy IP addresses issues.

The question about proxy providers has been asked and answered at least a few times in this thread. But, for redundancy's sake, here's my short version:

not packetflip

consider proxybonanza, hidemyass, hidemyip, or inquire about the services offered by BHW members mrtornado, proxygo, or justnone

I have no affiliation with any of the above-mentioned other than having acquired proxy services from some of them.

There's really two questions here.

First, from what I've seen you can run it on a workstation and multitask, or run it on a dedicated workstation that does nothing else, or run it on a server.

I'm not sure (but may be about to find out) if you can run it on a virtualization instance. I remember someone asking awhile ago in the thread but can't remember if they said it worked. I think it will, can't see why it wouldn't once it's activated (remember - the license is for one PC, and for the low cost and the massive time and effort sweets puts into it, it's an AMAZING deal)

Proxies are another issue. I think regardless of where you are running the client application from, you're gonna want to use proxies to a) increase your success rate and b) make it less likely you get banned (and keep in mind who all can ban u - Big G, Akismet, yahoooo, bing, aol if they're smart enough lol, etc.). The free proxies are - in a nutshell - proof of you get what you pay for. The proxy harvester is a bonus, a damned nice one at that if you ask me. I still use a mix of harvested proxies and paid proxies for some of what I do with SB. But regardless, I would not advise running ScrapeBox (or any similar tool) without masking your IP on any type of machine.

The app should run just fine on your home PC - it's really lightweight in terms of footprint - but when it comes to the ban hammer Big G doesn't really give a damn what computer it's running on lol.

peace,
gregs.

Thank you. That info is very helpful, as you already summarized the proxy providers here.

I normally use this for scrapping forum profiles where I then manullay add my signatures.

I have used vbulletion and phbb and wonder if they are any other platforms I which I can scrap and add signature on my profile???

Also how do I check for dead links as I am having finding about 50% os the sites dead. I have tried to ping and they are like 8 coming as success out of 300 which isnt right because when i do it manually its about half links dead. I have followed the video on ping but dont quite get it as it doesnt have sound.

It seems most guys here do commenting. I am feeling a bit scared doing it. My money site domain is about 18months old and has over 18 000 links (according to explorer) and wonder if that wont get me banned in google. It seems blogengine is the one with auto apporove and do follow backlinks. I have scpaped these and notice that most are heavily spammed. I tried wordpress even using the comment luv and still about 80% were coming up as no follow and I dread my domain being banned by askimet. I know I need to write really cool and comments that dont look sparmy but if I have my achor text as url will that not look sparm. This is really a great tool. I just want to know how best to use it for maximum results.

Hi Sweetfunny, I tried SB yesterday (my friend bought it) and wanna say your tools is the real killer. I will buy it soon but still have some question.

Is it possible to add new features to scrape suggested keywords from Amazon.com, Shopping.com, and Ebay like what you already did with Google?

LoL I was playing around with the outbound link checker and ran into this blog:

http://blog.dashpoint.com/post/Twitter-Conversations-First-Refactoring.aspx

This thing has over 1000+ outbound links ...

Look at this idiot LoL ... this is suppose to be coming from a marketing and SEO company. Kinda off topic but I just want to make sure nobody here is retarded enough to spam a blog like this.

wtf-1.png

I know that's hard to see but its basically 100's of links spammed in 1 comment... ridiculous ..

Hey Doctor,
I use Hide My IP premium also.
How did u set it up to work with SB?
I didnt see SB on the HMIP "approved apps" list.
Thanks
Odysseus

Been using this for just over a week now and very happy with the results.

I dont have any private proxies, but i use Hide My Ip - premuim subscription, which i have set to change to a random proxy every 1 minute.
I have set scrapebox to use the 10s delay, this mean my proxy will change after roughly every 6 comments

Thus far i have been getting success rate of about 30 - 40% and then maybe 10 -20% of that will actually stick.

I have also learned that you can open multiple instances of the program on your PC, so while i am posting i open another instance and start harvesting , and other instance sending out RSS pings -- i have about 5 instances running at a time.

I do however have a question about the email file and have been using the default emil file but i dont think that is a good idea as it looks very suspicious all these comments from the same domain. Wont it be better to just use random fake email addresses -- what do you guys use or suggest for this?

Thanks for your reply gregs, that makes sense. My question regarding the dedicated server was because I saw some talk of bandwidth somewhere in the thread. Now, I'm a noob to harvesting so I have no idea what kind of bandwidth we're talking about here - I wouldn't want to get my family's internet connection cut off for making too many requests and consuming too many resources from my ISP?

@nryan:

Ah, gotcha. Yes, I know what you mean. My significant other has had some issues since I acquired a few "tools" including ScrapeBox in that "her" computer was constantly in use lol. So I built another workstation to dedicate to running my apps and scripts, as well as have virtual instances of linux and xp for safety's sake. Ah domestic bliss.

IMHO you don't need a dedicated server though a machine (local client or server) dedicated to doing our "dirty work" can be nice to have. I haven't had any issues with my ISP so far though they might be wondering what the hell I'm doing with my bandwidth lol. I don't think they really care, I'm paying for 5MB down and 1MB up and I think they're happy just to get their $$. And sadly I'm sure there's other users of the ISP doing way worse with their bandwidth (you know, like midget porn).

I'm guessing that most of the talk about bandwidth you've seen in this thread has been with regard to paid proxy services. I recall one person who was getting their connection whacked by their ISP when using SB, that's really weird and I suspect very anomalous. Other than that most bandwidth-related chatter has been about proxies or about people needing to throttle ScrapeBox down a bit (which is very easy to do if needed).

Thanks a lot for the reply, I appreciate it. That's cleared everything up for me - now I can get started harvesting! :)
