what do you mean you can't use the scraper at all?

do you mean scrapebox in general? is your proxy server blocking it?

or are you having trouble with one of SB's scraping features?

proxy server doesn't allow me to verify my account (like when you open the software). any idea how to fix this? or isn't it possible?

After playing with it for 2 nights after I bought it - let me tell you:

ScrapeBox is a freaking awesome tool!!!

google limits the number of results for a query to 1000.

if you want to get more... here is a "hack":
Do mutually exclusive search queries, for example if you were looking for "car"...

google---> car---> 1k results
ok now try using these as your search terms
-intitle"quick" car
+intitle"quick" car --->1.8k results

-intitle"quick" car +"on"
+intitle"quick" car +"on"
-intitle"quick" car -"on"
+intitle"quick" car -"on"
----->3.1k results

+-+-... ----> all results!

add conditions like that. It would be awesome if sweetfunny could add a feature like that- where it could do all the "include/exlude" combos of X different "addons" that you specify, eg: quick, on,...
so the net result would be you could get MANY more urls to post to.
*use smart "addons" terms that you think have about a 10% chance to be in the title of target urls. This way you will always get more results, and never less!

(bad part is it exponentially increases your search terms, so it will drain your bandwidth quickly)

and just keep adding combinations of different terms, in the net result you will get way over 1k results for 1 keyword (I'v gotten 45k unique urls for 1 keyword by splitting it up like that)

if you benefited from me telling you this.. hit thanks (so others see it is a usefull post) ;)
is scrapebox limited to only 1000 results for each keyword? i could have sworn i was able to set it above 1000 last night before the latest update.

1000 would make sense tho since i believe results are limited to first 1000 now

Do you mean you need to enter a username/password for the proxies?

If so, the format is:
IP:port:username:password

Link Lock feature rewritten

Just to let everyone know, the "Link Lock" feature has been totally rewitten to be easier to utilize. Previously if the number of entries in the Names.txt and the number of entries in Websites.txt was equal they would be locked together in pairs to allow specific anchors on specific URL's. This could get messy when using it with dozens of anchors and dozens of websites, resulting in 100's of lines.

Now however this is just done in the Websites.txt like so:

Code:
http://www.catsite.com {cats|cat food|cat health|cat diets}
http://www.dogsite.com {Dogs|dog diets|dog food}

When ScrapeBox sees this, one of the anchors inside the spin syntax will be used on the URL it's next to. This allows you to place your URL once, and have dozens of anchor text applied to your link randomly on each comment quite easily.

If we use the new link lock feature does that mean we do not use the names file?

Thanks

There's tons of filtering on those inputs, to stop people loading bad data so the Names.txt cannot be blank. So just add one entry in there when using Link Lock, it won't be used unless your brackets {} or spin syntax is broken.

So think of that one entry in there as a fallback.

Question: Does it automatically get proxies or you have to have your own list of proxies?

I was testing the RSS yesterday and i didnt ping any RSS services! I used proxies and w/o proxies. It just went through the list really fast and failed pinging each service. Any idea?

How about:

http://www.dogsite.com {Dogs|dog diets|dog food} 40

Which would give it a 40% chance to use keywords otherwise use a name from names.txt? I heard its a good idea to NOT only use keywords.

Question: Does it automatically get proxies or you have to have your own list of proxies?

It has an option to harvest free proxies but it is highly recommended to have your own.

The results are much better when you have your own proxies.

It scrapes proxies from a few public lists, with the ability to test/filter them.

http://www.dogsite.com {Dogs|dog diets|dog food} 40

How about you enter whatever you like in the brackets? There's already an unlimited number of possibilities to anchor a URL, why do you need more ways?

It really is a amazing tool, bought it a few days ago and I'm already having some amazing results with this amazing bit of software, no issues so far, very lightweight and fast, oh sorry for cutting this short, just scraped a fuckload of URLS to comment on, haha. I'd say this is amazing software for the price and it's a must have SEO tool.

I'm getting a large amount of spam from people using Scrapebox, is there any way to include my own site in the do not spam list?

Okay but how many it searches from because I already have hrefer and want something that does a job little faster then the proxies that are avaialbe with hrefer? Can you just give me the # of proxies it can get in a given time to be used for searching?

LOL welcome to the club, my friend.

I've gotten a lot of comments (spam is an UGLY word) from "people" that are so identical to the "generic" comments I shared with a few people and BEGGED them not just copy and paste. Oh well, newbs are newbs.....

You could submit your site to the blacklist cloud, but I wouldn't - think of it this way - the more "spam" comments, and the more hatemail, you get - the more traffic you're getting too. Every time I get an angry email from someone, I just look at my statistics and laugh. And FYI - I get more "thank you for your comment on my blog blah blah blah" than I get hatemail....

This tool rocks, some newbs are going to abuse it, but in the end we can laugh all the way to the bank....
