I've just began looking into bots and scraping... Is Scrapebox, on it's own, capable of doing most IM related tasks (follow, post etc) ? Is it necessary to purchase all the plugins? While reading their webpage, I'm not seeing anything about social media sites, only scraping websites for social media accounts.


I've read the first 3 pages and this last page and the website - the details might be in the other almost 1000 pages here on BHW, but that is A LOT of sifting through! Thanks!

One more thing to ask using the custom data grabber. Is there a way to get more regex data from a single scrape?
Let's say i get the price from that page, and also the page shows "Previous price" and current price.
Would it be possible to include both in the .txt file?

On the basic data scraper that is included with scrapebox, no, its for a single piece of data.
On the custom data scraper that is part of the email scraper plugin, yes. The email scraper plugin custom data scraper is capable of virtually unlimited fields (within reason, 40000 fields is not really realistic etc..) and it gives a nice excel style output.

It doesn't do following or posting on social media sites. Scrapebox does not support authentication, so if you have to be logged in, or if it requires javascript then its a no go.

Each plugin is different, so it depends on if you need to do the tasks that the plugins do.

Scrapebox has thousands of functions and can do a lot, but its not really designed to do like follow/unfollow, post etc... on social sites. Really scraping data from social sites is about where scrapebox is, in relation specifically to social sites.

In relation to other things it varies depending on the task.

What you didn't want to read all 1000+ pages and watch all 100+ videos I have, you could have easily be done by Christmas...

Welcome to BHW, and yes, it's a lot of reading ;-)
No, scrapebox is a web scraper with certain posting capabilities, but not enough for most Web2.0s let alone social media sites. As a simple guideline, if you need javascript, it's not going to work with Scrapebox. (there are some minor exceptions with some of the plugins)
When you talk about "follow, post", you might rather want to look into specific bots for social media, like Jarvee or Socinator.

Linkedin emails - Yes, it can, but scrapebox isn't the best tool for linkedin mail scraping (because you need to login with an account to get full data on this site in particular).
Expired Domains - Yes it does. Scrapebox has tools to download expired/TDAM lists, tools to get information on big lists of domains etc.

SB has 2(3) email scrapers.
1. Builtin mail scraper, which can extract emails from a list of URLS, and optionally crawl those urls up to 8 levels deep
2. Premium email scraper. Which adds many more features to the mail grabber, such as validating a list, downloading/extracting addresses from an email account

For example it gives me error 426 for Pinterest and g+.
G+ is not an issue as soon they will stop the service.
But Pinterest is pretty useful.

As noted above, due to the authentication required to get certain data from linked in, scrapebox can get some mails, but other tools specifically designed for this case may be able to get more mails.

The thing is that most "seo" or "internet marketing" tools tend to be focused on a specific goal. You start at point A and get to point B.

Scrapebox really just isn't like that, its why people call it the swiss army knife of SEO. Its really a massive suite of all kinds of tools in 1.

So rather then 1 or 2 or 3 main objectives, it has tens of thousands of "main objectives" so its hard to point you at videos for beginners because really almost all the videos are relevant for beginners, it just depends on what you are trying to do specifically.

As mentioned above there are 2 email scrapers. What specifically otherwise are the tasks you want to do?

I don;t pay attention to be honest, I just load and go. I went and looked and im getting maybe a little bit better then that but there are a lot of factors at play.

Like your footprints or how many actual queries are available for your footprints etc..

If you have security software scanning the threads etc... So whitelist in all security software and try a few different things and you can try google as well for comparison.

It works, though I prefer to use grep, awk, sift, etc for this.

2) Manage Lists >> Remove/Filter
You can filter the harvester urls with strings/lists of strings, but not regex.
