[Penguin Update] Stop Using Exact Match Domain Names

I'm starting to develop a conspiracy theory where Google is trying to use fear to do their work for them. If they can pay, coerce, or fake it for an authority article that talks about doom and gloom for SEO practices, they don't have to worry about inventing anything to combat it.

The bad links penalty, IMO, is bogus. If not, time to scrape box all competitors and sell them my SEO services.

The EMD penalty is, IMO, bogus... Google's just hoping MNS builders will delete, run and hide, or quit.

I have two brand new MNS and one is already stable on page 1 and the other is climbing.

I believe the SEO penalty is going to come more from no value from the spammy links than penalizing for them. Which is why those who have spammy link warnings are doing fine by building more quality backlinks.

Google killed JFK as well. If you spin Oswald to 50% you get Googwald...

I totally agree with OP. All you guys with EMDs please transfer them to me asap to avoid being penalized by Google. This is serious stuff!
 
It's funny cuz my best ranking sites are all "over-optimized" EMDs.

Probably the best thing for anyone is to just see what works through trial and error. I think someone may have said that in this thread, or 50k other threads here. Anyway...
 
such bad advice, all my emd's even .me and .co are doing great in my niche entire top ten on page one are emds :-)
 
Google can penalize you for anything, if it means to them having their serps cleaner, even if in the process it will treat some sites unfairly.

It is tougher than before, but still still easier to rank than non-EMD domains. So, no reason to panic.
 
Just noticed one of my EMDs made AFTER this thread is #1, false info for the win.
But I like the thread, more EMDs for me :P
 
Google will never penalise EMDs. It would be completely counterproductive.

My site along with my competitor ( Both EMDs) are ranking very well too. Wonder where you guys jump for conclusions.
 
I agree with most of the people on here that authority sites, authority sites. .. is the way to go.
 
Well, pretty obvious Exact Matched Domain is just 1 parameter in SEO

I guess this all is about :
1- EMD isn't as powerful as it was
2 - It became a sign of trying to manipulate the searches.

However if you have good site with unique content and good backlinks. Then there is no way you will lost your rank because of EMD !

Everyday we are pushed more toward authority sites. Looks like few months and it would be the hardest competition between Authority Sites EVER ! Everything gonna be harder. You need high quality by Backlinks and High Quality Content. People who are specialist in SEO services will be millionaires :D
 
I wish i could say this is true cause my competition is ranking for EMD's all over the place and Google is not touching them, well not so far. So if this is true howcome they all rank up there?
 
Bullshit, EMDs are still very strong. People screw up with the backlinking then blame the domain..
