I lost rankings too yesterday. All keywords dropped from #5-6 to #30+. Seems as though it's already hit.

my ranking drops don't seem to be as dramatic as everyone else. I'm still on page 1 for my terms but I'm right at the bottom of the page. so i basically might as well not be on page 1 lol

For me it has happened like this between yesterday and today.

In 5 different websites, all of them ranking top 10. I was thinking it was something else, because all of them are churn and burn, but it was very suspicious all happening at the same time.

I see that people are getting ready for another update. Who cares anyway? It's not the first not last we will see changes in their algo. Till then we could only wonder what particular types of links it will hit.

More likely to be Panda around this time of the month. They said they are not going to announce it every time as it runs every month - according to the Mueller guy from Google you will see if you have been hit by Panda as you will see your site had a major crawl (Panda running through it) just before your rankings drop.

Confirmed. Same here, one website dropped 3-6 pages for most its keywords. No changes in terms of SEO/backlinks from my end.

Someone asked about non-US website. There are changes too. Several websites lost some positions, I'm getting a lot more red than green on these last 24 hours.

Well, don't know how true this is but supposedly Penguin 3 hasn't rolled out, they've been testing some algorithm changes.

I guess that's the "dipping their toe in the water" before unleashing the hounds of hell.

One of my sites was two months old. Ordered high PR blog posts, ranked on first page.
And now slapped in the face, it's not even top 100...
One worthless URL is ranked on 110. Homepage? Nowhere to be found.

How was your link profile like? Other than High PR posts, what other kinds of links were there? Could you also tell me the speed at which you built these links?

This! Every time I go on vacation, something happens. If you remember this time last year there was a big update. I think it was May 22, Penguin 2.0. Smack dab in the middle of my vacation. I'll be away next week as well. Let's see if Google allows me to enjoy my vacation.

I'll paraphrase this according to my own experience.

Out of 20-30 sites, the ones that lost rankings during last week were the 2-3 sites that were "in vacation mode". Not being updated for the last 2-3 months.
