It'd be helpful if you can tell us what kind of links you build to your websites. That would help up stay under the radar next time. Notice I'm not asking you for your strategy, or your secret sauce, but just your type of links. Do specify. Although I would also understand if you choose not to reveal. Either way, great stuff with your page 1 rankings

One of my sites lost ranking (page 1 to >100).
However this site was just "sitting there" i did not update or post any new articles in a while...
Some of you guys lost rankings with a daily update site?
No alert in gwt so far.

It looks like an update but only affecting certain sites.

Two of my sites took a big hit (page 1 to oblivion). They were both ranking with 301 redirects.

no big secret at all.
NO SEO blasting, just manual links from my own blogs.
all blogs PR 3-5 Aged domains.
All articles that pointing to main site are niche related
Pointing Authority sites also from my blogs so it gives the feeling i'm linking only good sites. ( just in case)

Slow Link Building since its business site.

Might never even be a Penguin 3.0 - not saying that their won't but who knows.
Penguin is a punitive update, and Google are getting some flak for taking a scatter gun approach to punishment as it is. IF!!! P3 comes it might be a refinement rather than an increase. But who knows.
So the guy on this blog did a link bait post - and got a link from BHW.
Google will love him for that.
Also - 50% of the stuff around it is conjecture and White Hat evangelism.

I'm monitoring a bunch of sites and haven't seen any significant changes in rankings, although I'm doing mostly white hat for my sites at the moment. Also, if you guys take a look at MOZ CAST ( http://www.mozcast.com ) you'll notice the weather has been very mild for the last 30 days suggesting that their hasn't been an algorithm update such as Penguin 3.0. Additionally MOZ is not reporting any algorithm changes on their web page: http://moz.com/google-algorithm-change
While I do expect a Penguin 3.0 at some point this year I don't think it's happened yet.
