Nothing is going to happen as to legal stuff... it's a couple hundred bucks and PP can't do anything as you are a minor.

That being said, figure a way to pay the debt so that you grow as a person.

If you were my child you would be working like a rented mule to earn the money and pay it back.
never knew master is so strict with kids!

The people that are sending you letters.
Dear Paypal,
I'm 14 years old. I know I'm not allowed to have a paypal account when I'm 14 but I did it anyways. I was recenlty frauded out of money by a refund and lost the case which put me to a negative balance. I just brushed it off not expecting anything to happen but I recently got a letter from paypal(ACI) saying I am in debt and I have to pay $216. I am only 14 years old and I have no way of paying it since I don't have any income. I am just asking that you stop sending letters to my home and to let me go from this debt. I will leave paypal after this is over since I am not old enough for it.

Thank You

That is the letter I am going to send. Is it good enough to send?

I can't believe I'm going to say this but... I will help you pay back. Just message me your paypal address and I will send you the funds to your paypal account. This should solve the issue.

Can someone please answer what will happen if I don't pay back the debt. Will there be legal trouble? Will the debt increase? I need help

If you're not going to pay it:

You'll lose your PayPal account. Not sure what country you're in but in my country PP can't negatively impact your credit score.

If you have any automatic withdrawals set up using the PayPal account you need to stop them all. What Paypal will try to do is recover your negative balance by piggybacking it onto another transaction. If you have cards or bank account tied to this PayPal you won't be able to remove it so you'll have to get another bank account or card to make a new PayPal.

These days if you make a new PayPal account PayPal will come after your new account using your name and address information to recover the negative balance. So make sure you don't leave money sitting around in your new account and use a different address to sign up if possible.

If you pay it:

You lose $216 but continue to have PayPal. If it was a chargeback or something you always lose, no way to fight chargeback for PayPal.

When this happened to me long, long ago, the calls started coming after a few letters were sent, not before.

Also, if this PayPal account is tied into one of your parents' bank accounts in any way, they may come after your parents for the debt instead of just you. Hopefully you also used your own social security number if you're in the US.

I hate to say that the above letter text is not going to do much for you. Send a legitimate Cease and Desist similar to this: https://nevadalawhelp.org/files/0E0FAED7-9DF5-35DD-51BC-A21BED55AA55/attachments/A1FBDF26-6F36-4BAF-BE18-71807882566B/debt_collection_stop_calling_letter.pdf.

Send it to the collections company and not PayPal.

Also note that if you use any of the same details in your new account (which is was a stupid idea to post in a public forum) then you'll likely face the same issue. I had my problem in 2008... possibly 2007. It was several hundred dollars. I had forgotten all about it, and after a solid seven years of not using PayPal, I opened a new account back in 2014.

A month or so ago I applied for PayPal Payments Pro, and had to input my SSN. They limited my account immediately and I had to resolve the balance before my account was reinstated. Luckily at this point in my life it's a drop in the bucket, but ten years ago such was not the case.

Be a man, tell your father what you have done, suffer the consequences. It's your fault, you pay. It's not right that your mom should be stressed about this, the truth will come out anytime. Sooner you solve this with your father, better for your ass,
Also, my second advice : if you can pay, a negociable amount (as somebody said that the debt collector got your skin for 30 bucks or so) then pay, just once. If you can't pay or negociate then just don't pay anything! Not even a single dollar. If you pay any amount of money then you give hope to that collector and they will try to squeeze you even more. They will even try to use this in a court as a fact that you-your family know and approve that you are in debt to them. The letters will continue to come, regardless of what you do.
Good luck and remember, this is not the worst that could have happened.

I also have a debt of 526 $... just adding this here

Ultimately your father will end up with the bills for this, my advice is that you start by calling PayPal and explaining what happened, and after that talk with your father about the matter (do not prolong it).

It's better to act like a man and take care of your business first, by calling PP and trying to resolve the matter, it will likely get you some respect from your father.

Learn by this lesson.

Easiest fix for this is to just go out and earn the money. It's not even a lot. Just hand out a bunch of flyers to mow the lawn, rake the leaves, shovel some snow (depending on the current climate in your area). Knock on some doors if you don't want to wait for a call back.

Depending on the area charge $30-$50. When I wanted new video games and clothes at your age (lol I'm 27 and sound like an old man) I would go out, spend a weekend working yards and earn several hundred dollars. Yeah manual labor sucked, but worth it. If you owe people money, it's even more worth it to clear your name.

Were the items you selling legit or fakes/stolen ?

btw I don't have a ssn or credit card connected to the account so is there anything I should need to know about that?
