PayPal closed account, refusing to return MY MONEY (Over $8000)

So after 180 days do you get paid?
Ok, first of all, I've had my Paypal account locked in the past. Yes, it's an utter bitch. But here's what I did. I sent a prelegal notification that I'd take them to court if they didn't unlock my account. They called my bluff and unlocked my account the next day.
Prior to this I was calling them three times a day without shit.
I remember buying a guide online about how to unlock your account.. It gave me a solid template for the letter. Worked for me. Can't remember the name though, you'll have to search around.

And also, DO NOT CREATE MULTIPLE ACCOUNTS. This is against their rules.. And if there's anything I learned after the experience, it's to FOLLOW their rules to the T.

the key word here is "replicas" what exactly are your replicas of? I'm guessing they closed you account because your selling knock offs.

I've read something similar somewhere else where when you threaten them they back off. PayPal is really scared of facing legal charges. They do everything to evade lawsuits.

A replica is a replica no matter how good the quality.
In Paypals eyes (and the law) It's fraud or copyright theft or both.
I've had Paypal close accounts and hold back 15% before. NO reason given, though the account went from $50 a month to a few grand a month very quickly, I think they were worried about chargebacks and refunds etc.
I argued, and they relented after a couple of months. I now get paid direct to one of my bank accounts when I can.
In your case it's different. You are commiting a crime. You might not consider it particularly big, but if that's the reason Paypal are playing hardball, I wouldn't push too hard.
If customer knows it's a replica it's still copyright theft (from the original manufacturer) if the customer is mislead into believing that product is genuine, then it's fraud AND copyright theft.
Either way it's criminal in 99% of the world.
They shut you down because you are laundering money gained through fraud and/orcopyright theft through them. Don't highlight yourself by raising a fuss. What you've done is criminal pure and simple
Shutting your account one thing. Passing on your details to the feds and you getting put away for 3-12 years (dependng on where you live and how much you made) is another.
Be glad you are getting your cash in 180 days

Replicas? replicas are illegal copies of some originals, aren't they?
That straightaway puts a gun to the heads of ...
... eBay and PP. For the simple reason that the original makers can sue them for a lot lot more for allowing replica sales on their sites.

Six months.... They held someone I knew money for over six months and it was a large sum of cash as well! He sent in all of the appropriate paper work showing and stating it is all legit and it is indeed HIS money and they still sat on it for six months.

It's almost definitely defrauding the patent/copyright of the REAL manufacturer and may also be defrauding the end customer if they are sold as real rather than replica's
The first may be only a civil matter - but one that Paypal are very keen to prevent association with (as Ebay replica sellers have found out, as Paypal and Ebay get together and close down both ends of replica businesses whenever they find them) but if the guy is also selling them on as the "genuine" item then that's a criminal offence in most of the world (fraud)
Civil = "Trademark infringement". (unless replicas are licensed by the original "real" manufactuerer)
Criminal = "Fraud" (if replicas sold to end customers wihtout being clearly labelled as replicas)

They ban the accounts the cash passes through, and have a responsibility to inform the authorities who will investigate whether it is a criminal or purely civil offence.
In the UK it's under the "Proceeds of Crime act 2002" in the USA there are "civil and criminal forfeiture" laws which vary by state and are generally much stricter than the UK's laws.
Paypal are bound by law to abide by these laws and inform the authorities of any monies that might be passing through them that breaks these rules. The rules themselves are in the terms and conditions you signed up to when you opened your Paypal account.

If I was the OP I'd wait 180 days, get my cash and make as little fuss as possible. The penalties for the civil side can be the seizure of ALL assets owned by the guy (at least temporarily) if it's fraud,(criminal - ie the goods were sold on as if they were the real items) then between 3 months and 7 years inside if they want to play hardball in the US and 6 months and 7 years approx in the UK.
Not judging - but that's the way it is.

Have had money held by PayPal for the 180 days on several occasions and it always gets released to me after that time.
