Hi all, first post
So I work for a company that specialises in web development. We don't usually have the time to devote to backlinking campaigns and as such usually outsource it.
One of the companies we use outsources it as well, and there we thought the chain ended, but we have recently found out that they outsource it too, and this got me interested. Having found a lot of the backlinks in question, english is obviously not their first language, so chances are its being outsourced multiple times, probably ending up with some dude in India being paid 2 pence a link.
Now the company we use don't come cheap, and they claim all their links are high relevancy and quality trusted sources etc (as all SEO people seem to claim). But again, having found a bunch of the links, some were actually on no follow blog comments (useless), and the majority were on random sites / blogs / forums with absolutely zero relevancy to our campaigns, and lost amongst 2000 odd other similar 'blatant backlink comments'
Now my question is, are there any genuine SEO companies out there that do it themselves and strive for quality results? Because SEO isn't quantifiable, and results are generally held behind a curtain of mystery, I feel like a lot of supposed SEO 'experts' can get away with saying / charging anything. Does virtually the entire backlinking demand in the world end up on some 'cheap as chips' SEO monkey's desk? If you pay for quality that's what you expect, if this doesn't seem to exist then should we just just cut out all the middle men and go direct to these people on the cheap?
As previously stated, we usually outsource this service genuinely because we don't have the time to do it ourselves. Though don't you expect dedicated SEO companies to actually get their hands dirty and do it themselves?
This forum is obviously set up for people that want to be intuitive and get results, and from experience I know such communities are an absolute wealth of knowledge, hence me joining up and asking this question. So BHW, what say you?
