Optimizing Etsy Keywords and Tags

So, I wasn't exactly sure where to post this. It isn't social media. There isn't a subforum for it, etc. Perhaps it should be in making money? If so, please move!

I was just wondering how to go about optimizing my Etsy listings. I'm getting almost no daily traffic and I've put up 104 clothing items in about 3 weeks. I'm assuming it's my lack of expertise at SEO, so my keywords and tags might suck (could also just be I won't be more relevant until I get sales, reviews, etc). I was wondering if anyone has an optimizer or any software for it or if I would have to learn good ol' keyword research?

There are a few research tools and kw optimization tools for Amazon and eBay... But not sure if they are for Etsy too.

You could use an eBay tool, research ebay for the same category of your items and create similar ads.

Alternatively, you can search on Google for items in your category and look at the Google Ads postes and use their ad text and kws as a starting point.

Better you find the keywords that related to your clothing products. Then add Etsy for getting new suggestions as well. I hope it will work for sure.

Title should have as many of the tags you chose as possible.

Description does not matter for Etsy SEO.

Adding video might help.

Adding way more products will help way more.

Make sure you diversify the tags you use.

I use eRank but it's not necessary.

AddToCart on Youtube has some good tips.
 
How could i possibly diversify the yags if most of my POD are worls of art within same nishe???? They literally share 90% of the features... will repeating the tahd and title keywords ruin my chances for 1st page?
 
I prefer marmalead over erank but they do the same thing. AddtoCart and Kara Buntin are great sources of Etsy SEO info. But Etsy's SEO is very simple once you "get it".

This comes up all the time on Etsy I've noticed. The answer is the same as people here asking how to rank in very competitive keywords. You don't- you find less competitive niches and keywords to rank for. Go for that and think about the people who will buy it. Is it crunchie moms in Austin, gothy types in NY, mother of 3 keeping a tight budget, suburban empty-nester moms becoming grandmas, etc?

Etsy ranks not only on SEO. It looks at the age of the shop, the reviews, ratings, how often they sell, and how quickly they ship their orders too. You can't compete with a shop that's been selling on Etsy for 5 years dominating the "don't talk to me before I've had my coffee" t-shirts niche.

Use erank to find long tail keywords. If you keep using the same tags in a listing that wont help, as etsy only counts one.

You can also use synonyms for the tags that youre using. Also try using that keyword in different languages like spanish etc

I mean I have many listings but they share 90% of keywords. Do you think it hurts my traffic?

I dont think it should hurt your shop. But having diverse keywords would help you get seen more. Are you ranking good for the 90% keywords you use? If you are then you can use those keywords more. If not, I would try to find some more related keywords.
I have an eRank subscription. So post a few keywords you use and i'll try to send a list of some long tail keywords that might help. :)
 
But should I make long tags or single word ones? ie. "naruto art canvas" or "naruto" "art" "canvas" ?
