operating an illegal website?

- Upload site at internet cafe with no cameras
- Destroy computer you built it on
- Have website accept payment via bitcoins
- Have someone setup overseas to get the bitcoins cashed out
- Have that person WU the money to someone in your country that is being paid by someone you're paying, who will then give it to the person paying them
- Have the final above person bury the money in a field for you once every 6 months.
- Pay someone to pick it up at a random day and time for you.

When enough money is involved, anything is possible to cover your tracks. Yes I've left out steps, but anonymity is achievable under almost any circumstance.

A well funded investigator can trace all this.

A well-funded investigator would have no hope in hell of following your guy out to a field at a random day and time months down the track. The odds of being caught would be non-existent.

This thread is getting comical.

NOTHING is anonymous. Hosting providers keep logs, if you can find one that will accept your content, which I doubt because it makes them liable too. Even your ISP logs everything you are doing.

Not a good idea to participate in anything illegal. It will catch up with you sooner or later.

Is it really worth it?

ryannull is the one of the voices of reason on this thread. None of this is advised under any sane circumstances or rationality. Other posters are right: These kinds of sites and activities will only get anyone jailed, dead, or "disappeared." I suppose the last two are somewhat redundant, but I'm sure readers get my overall point. As an answer to the question "Is it worth it?": Of course not! Technically it could be possible to stay totally anonymous with enough online and offline steps, but it still is far from worth it. I do have to admit there is some general information about TOR on this thread that is interesting.

well if you check out the silkroad forum through tor you see loads are getting away with selling coke, speed lsd etc so it must be secure enough, accepting bitcoins for payment and then washing them with some of the online bitcoin services...I think the less people you have involved the better, so the person above who had a person who had a person collecting would be less secure, more mouths to talk!!...keep it simple

i can provide an off shore hosting with dedicated IP and you can fully remain anonymous ..i have been hosting about 100 of such sites on my server ...

You can't, it's not possible, and eventually you are going to get caught as nothing is really hidden.

Just take a bit more time, learn stuff, and open up a nice, quality, white hat business and you'll be thankful for enjoying a good and rich stress-free life. You're welcome :D

Offshore hosting account and make sure you pay the account with something that wont link back to your name.

It depends on the laws of where the website is being hosted. The only straight up illegal website that I know of (and everyone else including LEO know of) is The Silk Road. Selling arms is a gray area just as selling pharmaceuticals is. A straight-up public assassination website would get the owners taken down real quick.

There are still assassination sites that have been up for years.

I heard freedom hosting doesn't give an eff what you host as long as you pay. Was on the news actually for allowing child porn... yeah that effed up of a service. But they want your money :S

Your question was vague, as laws vary from region to region, so do the answers to this question.
As a web host, we are governed by the laws that apply to the location or country where the server that has your content is physically located.
That said, there is a lot of similar laws, so child porn for example would not be allowed worldwide.
The point of having a website would to make money, so illegal may not be the way to go in the long run. The illegal content you may post and hope to make money on, will probably be offered on another site free of charge. so for the days or weeks your content is available, it is hardly worth the effort.
Spend some time and money and offer a product or service you can be proud of and make money for years!

what's the rule of 'illegal'?Just do what you think it is right, but don't break the local law

Just curious . where can anyone host website son these :

Selling drugs
Selling arms
Assassination

Not that i m planning to . but just curious :p

What if there are FBI agents among BHW users?

What if there are FBI agents among BHW users?

So what if there is? The government (and other than the USA) know that freedomhosting provides most of the service for such content. Some of their servers were recently seized by the governments around the world and claimed it was the biggest takedown for CP and also arms.
