Online investing ideas

Hey ppl!
I'm putting away some money and hoping to reach 5000 eur soon, so what would be a great and long-term investment to use that amount on?
My ideas so far:
- a blog (I will pay for the content as I'm not a good writer)
- an online service of some sort (subscription based)
- a mobile app (free to use and download but with the option to buy new features)
- something related to web design perhaps (that's my profession), I currently build websites for a living but wanting to create some online money trees, hehe
- ...

Unless you have some good experience with making money online (beyond doing web design for people) I would test the waters with a much smaller amount before going all out with 5k?.
A couple of small 100-200? projects should give you a good idea of the do's and don'ts which will be helpful later. Then again I am a new to IM myself so take my advice with a grain of salt.

If you are looking to plant some "money trees" and you are going for a very long term investment I would seriously consider the stocks and bonds market. With a basic investment plan and a balanced portefolio of both stocks and bonds you can reap in some good returns long term (and no I'm not talking about the forex or binary options scams that are out there. Stay the fuck away form those, lol).

I have a blog in a (not so popular) niche which is doing awful on adsense, I know the basics of SEO and have some internet marketing knowledge.
Hmm, stocks and bonds is a totally unknown area for me so that would pose as a big risk.

If you are web designer, use the money to expand your business and your brand. Don't blow your money on risky projects. Why not get some more skills and try developing things yourself? If I were you I would use the money to cover my expenses while I get some new skills. Keep in mind that schemes where you would hire people to do everything for you leaving most of the work to them while you do your normal job rarely pan out OK. If you are doing something you need to be doing it well and you personally need to have expertise in it so people don't mess it up for you leaving you with a losing project.

As you may already know, there are A LOT of ways to make money online and a WHOLE LOT of ways to lose money. And 5,000 eur is not a small sum to lose by investing in a stupid snake-oil business.

I would suggest to try to expand your already profitable business. It's what you know how to do, how to make money out of, and you definitely should have an expansion plan in mind. For instance, you could advertise your business in both online and offline mediums. Buy ads on local newspaper websites, blogs, check out brick and mortar businesses in your area (every business needs a website or a social media page) and expand your clientele.

As you get on more clients, you should hire other designers to help you, either locally or online. In just a couple of years you'll have a great web design company and, if you play it smart, you'll work just a few hours a day.

What not to do:

- don't go on flippa and throw away your money on some obscure website, it's a place where people lost A LOT of money; there are good websites, but they are hard to find
- don't spend all your money on something completely new to you; for instance, setting up an e-commerce website will eat up a lot of your funds, and you might lose it all
- don't believe any of the get rich quick schemes out there; even the get "middle-class rich" schemes are fraudulent

Read around on the forum, print some methods that you think will work for YOU and start with a small investment. If you are lazy you can even hire someone to do the work for you since you have start-up money. See which method works best and scale!

I've been thinking about further developing my skills and acquiring new ones and thus growing my brand and getting more clients. But there's only a limited amount of projects I can take on so that also means a limited profit. And to hire other guys to design websites for me it's not really my style, I tend to be a control freak

One other solution would be to target big clients who would pay big money but that's pretty hard because big companies tend to work with agencies and not freelancers.

I'm looking for a solution that will bring me good ROI in the long run.

I would use your 5k to fund you while you develop your own knowledge and scale your blog, or build some new ones. Maybe use a small portion of it, perhaps 10% as operating capital, for hosting, ppc etc. I think this is better. With IM once you know what you're doing it's more about the hours you invest than the $ i think.

i rememeber reading about a guy who lost his savings to a scammer, which is a shame as there's so much free info here also. So i just hope you dont spend it on any joint ventures, or on anyone that pms you and says they can double whatever you invest in 3 months or something like that.
