One backlink from domain or 301 domain redirect to main website

Hi ALL. i buy dead domain but old registered from 2004 year and domain have little backlinks from normal websites. domain offline maybe 5~10 years. now i cant decide what to do with this domain i register new free hosting and install Wordpress now what to do Redirect 301 domain to my website or just write one post and put backlink to my website which is better and safe? and why ?

Never use a 301. It works for a while then gets devalued - all links wasted. Do the it the old way - permalinks.

What is so special about the domain if it has barely any links?
You normally buy expired domains if they have great backlinks or awesome content you want to use.

what u recommend do blog and post 1-2 post with backlink?

Better re-use the old content and make a new site, post some articles and put a backlink to your site.

Use redirects only if there is a change in the URL, 301 is not so bad, but it has to place them correctly. Just put backlink to your website.

you mean find old content on archive.org? and post on new site? why i need to do this can you explain please. thanks

I mean restoring the old content of the domain you purchased, from archive.org. Benefits: Save money, get free contents.
Restore the content with their old URLs => you'll get link juice

what if content irelevant? its NP ?
p.s and old site have php links and i install Wordpress

I don't see the point of buying a domain which doesn't have good backlinks thus it doesn't matter what you do as it will not add any value.

It depends what you want to achieve Giorgi. If SEO plays the role here, the domain is pretty much useless if it doesn't have any SEO power. Anyway, this domain is good for something else. You can use such aged domain for emailing. Aged domains tend to have higher email inbox rates.

Just make a 5 page site, with some outsourced articles. DOn't spend too much time on this. It's one backlink, and that's the only way you'll get the most from it, if by the sounds of it, its not that good.

if it is your domain it is up to you I think, making backlinks would be kind thing to do for the previous owners and new visitors, but anyway it is your domain now.

Depending on your countries legislation: watch out for copyright infringements when using the old content…
