301 redirects also works, however, they are always risk carried with redirecting an entire domain that is "completely different".
However, to do either of this and remain safe, you need to ensure you did not leave any footprints.
This means, a totally different hosting to your site you are pointing at, this means you purchased it from a different registrar as your main site.
This means you are accessing your panels/controls/sites from a separate IP.
This also means, your SOA records are different and can't be traced back to you.
Different MX, A records. Hosting in different IP Classes (if possible) or different locations & different IPs.
If you are building the site, you would avoid "thin content", "fluff content" and "plagiarized content"
If you are building the site, you would attempt to do a real site structure
