This topic has probably been touched upon before but I am having trouble getting in touch with the right people at local businesses. Basically, I own a few domains related to local businesses, ie. (CITY)Profession.com/net/org.

I want to start hustling this method because I recently lost my job and I am in need of some money. I figured that even if the local business already has a website, they could benefit from an exact match site and just redirect back to their standard website.

I am not looking to be spoon fed here, just a push in the right direction and I'll work it from there. Thanks guys in advance.

Is offline marketing your preference over online one or either would do. I would suggest you try both for best results. Others who may have better experience in similar stuff may be able to help you better.

I don't have a preference over offline or online, but I'd rather get cash in hand going into the business in person. I just need a better way of getting through to the person in charge who will making the buying decision.

Outrank the top site ranking for the term, then offer to sell it to them or the traffic/leads.

EDIT: Sorry, I didn't read the post properly. If you are having trouble reaching the decision makers then knock up a site and walk into the business with your laptop.
There are many ways to get through to the right people and several threads have covered it before.

I mean you could combine online/offline by first sending out emails to local businesses to arrange a meeting.

I have done that in the past with little results. I'll just have to ramp efforts up until a business gets in contact and take it from there.

Send letters, make phone calls, knock on doors.

In the meantime have sites up with your contact details, get them ranking and eventually you will find people will start to take notice.

Thanks guys for the info. I'm just trying to scramble to make some extra money I haven't been thinking clearly. I'll put the advise to good use and post back with any results.
