I'm thinking of the diet niche for my blog. Has anyone tried to create a blog in this niche and have been successful? (300+ $/mo.) I'm afraid that this is a over saturated niche and will be flooded out by competition thoughts?

I would have to say that it is oversaturated. Never done a blog on it but I feel that this niche is really out there.

I think you should have a try. The niche will work but with twist. I mean go with Pinterest + Diet Blog + Adsense + CPA. This method will definitely works.

That's a very competitive niche, but if you are bringing some unique angle or depth to the table, it could work.

It is a very competitive niche. You have to find a targeted keyword and do more work on it.

I think it is competitive but if you do a bit more research and find a good sub-niche then its worth a shot - I am sure it was BTB or maybe another respected member that said it doesn't necessarily matter if you are working on a saturated niche - I guess the niches have lots of competition because they are so lucrative, just expect to have to put in more time and work to get great benefits.

The diet niche is very saturated. It is one of the most popular things to blog about these days.

I don't care, which niche saturated and which not saturated. Just when I select a niche, I try to make a strategy for ranking on SERPs, If I found I can and I have the ability to gather traffic from Search engine. Depends on your strategical format. People are saying its very difficult niche. YES, it is! But don't think, what they are saying. Find out what about your ability. Every single portion is difficult. You will find lots of competitors in every sector. So don't worry. :)

I agree with the others. This is one of those niches in which the majority of new niche builders are told to target, not to mention the veterans trying to duke it out with all the WebMd sites of the world. I would only go into the niche if I had a very specific angle that no one was covering or if I were only relying on traffic from social media and not SERPS.

It is oversaturated, but I guess it still works since most of the blogs in that niche are garbage. If you can build something which is of quality, you'll certainly find a place in the market for yourself. But doing a sloppy diet blog just looks like every other spam diet blog out there, then you won't have any luck at all.
