New SEO platform or/and WP SEO plugin?

Guys, over the years I'm fed up with WP, SEO plugins and blogging platforms that do just a bad job with SEO, and the code is always structured poorly and not friendly at all. What do you think, do we need some new bloke around the block with it's "platform" or does it seems like the industry is shifting towards sites like medium and platforms that operate in a similar way?

Medium is a community (think about Tumblr).
I agree about WP, I dropped wordpress years ago. However, I'm shocked to know how it's popular. The main problem about Wordpress is over-abused even as a web store.

I run a website with 60k products and it works really fine, even when it's a toy project and it runs in a VPS. It hardly touches the database. However, It's impossible on WP.

What would you recommend besides WP since it's impossible?

I'm not sure what he uses, but I know that database is awful. For example, you don't know but every uploaded picture will be cropped and saved in 4 dimensions I think. Every draft is saved to database etc. That are just some of the things that make is awful, but people use still, because if you look out there, there is no alternative, so that when you see it, you could say this one has advantages over WP. I use my custom CMS for serious projects, and for blogs that just needs to exist, I use WP.
