Stop worrying about links and rankings. Your site just launched. Even if it is MNS EMD, add content and manually bookmark via share buttons or Onlywire/Ping.FM for a couple of weeks. Just write some articles about related keywords. After 3 weeks, start to add more links, check your rankings etc. Being too aggressive right from the start with a brand new domain can very likely get your site dropped from rankings (penalized) for whatever algo Penguin/Panda/Monkey
