Yep, Facebook Shops is rolling in upcoming months

To all those who advertise with Facebook, now Facebook gives you the ability to create a shop directly on your business Facebook page, customers will NOT go to your shop ANYMORE, all shit will be on Facebook itself, and yeah all the data will be gathered by them and they made it clear to anyone and if that not enough, now they get 5% for each “Checkout” feature on your shop and the 5% only applies to the Facebook “Checkout” feature, not payments that are accepted using another e-commerce software firm. Regardless, Facebook has made it clear that this venture is not planned to be Facebook’s big money-maker. ( not planned to be Facebook’s big money-maker MY ASS)

IMO it will convert better than advertising -> send to shop. I'm sure they will still allow you to use the 'old' advertisements if you want.. but ROAS will be higher with this feature anyway.

You can mark up the price in Facebook Store to 5%. And if the customers want a 5% discount, they can buy it in your own store.

Why look at it in a negative view? This is a brand new update that could dethrone Facebook selling giants and open up great opportunities.

Bro, have you learned nothing from IM? Each big new thing like this is an opportunity. 5 Years down the line there will be tons of methods created for this, but in 5 years time they will be LESS profitable. Be the guy to create a method now and reap the reward. Rather than trying to copy methods 5 years down the line when they are saturated.

In essence, this is an unsaturated market entering the scene, and you have months to prepare.

Dont know why the rant here. If doing online sales long enough, one will know that in order to have more sales, you need to have more sales channels. This goes the same to the yearly rental increment cost on the physical stores as well.

I think you are misunderstanding its purpose. This is being created for buisnesses who do not have a store online and they want to start selling. You are not forced to use it. You can still upload your catalog to facebook and instagram like usual.

Indeed. Like many others I too see this as an opportunity rather than something bad whatsoever.

Now that's thinking like a pro.

If they allow adult content, they'll crush Onlyfans and those type of subscription services that are charging 20% of the sale

The direction is very clear.
Manufacturer sells on one of the big platforms to cut out all middlemens.

Oh yay, another slimy can of worms Facebook will place on a silver platter. Users will scramble to decipher this as Facebook banks on user error & snarfs more data & profit. Sure, you can make it positive, with workarounds and tactics, but since Facebook is inherently unethical in “acceptable” ways, their reasons for strategizing this are veiled in questionable smoke and mirrors “in our time of need” Let the games begin :-D

Back in early days they had a marketplace similar to what they have now then stopped for a while.
Theyve been trying to get users to buy through their platforms for a long time.

Not sure this is such a bad new, compare the 5% fee to the cost of domain, hosting, a cheap template for a web, SEO, social media promotions and so on.

It can be bad or good. Just explore it and think about how you can use it to your advantage. Is there something unique about what they are providing? Can you get your customers data regardless? It's important that you understand how it works to take full advantage of this future money maker.
