Be aware that on adult traffic clickthru rates and conversions are usually abysmal. but with a lot of volume no reason why you couldn't make some $$$

Although we can definitely improve the CTR, I am particularly baffled by and focused on the low conversion, since our ads are VERY straight forward (non-intrusive, non-clickbait, simple links with direct copy within the website), so if you click on them (about 50k clicks per wk) it's because you are clear on what is being offered and you are interested (no popups/popunders or deceiving links).
We have advertised several products/sites in multiple verticals (health, men's health, gambling & casino, etc.) with no significant variation in the CTR AND CR. I have even set similar or same products with different landing page to see if that is the problem, with no improvement. And since we work mostly RevShare or CPA/CPS, it is in our best interest to improve this CR.
My questions:
1. Any ideas, advice or similar experiences (share the pain) on how to improve Conversion Rates?
2. What suggestions of other non-adult verticals that take adult traffic do you recommend?
