Need help to fix low conversion with adult traffic

Hi, need some advice from experienced affiliate marketers...
I am (was) not an affiliate marketer (join the forum to read and learn), but managing a adult site with significant traffic (mostly US). I am now in charge of monetizing on this traffic. Important: Management doesn't want most of the (obvious) adult advertising (vertical), for multiple valid reasons not worth discussing here.
Although we can definitely improve the CTR, I am particularly baffled by and focused on the low conversion, since our ads are VERY straight forward (non-intrusive, non-clickbait, simple links with direct copy within the website), so if you click on them (about 50k clicks per wk) it's because you are clear on what is being offered and you are interested (no popups/popunders or deceiving links).
We have advertised several products/sites in multiple verticals (health, men's health, gambling & casino, etc.) with no significant variation in the CTR AND CR. I have even set similar or same products with different landing page to see if that is the problem, with no improvement. And since we work mostly RevShare or CPA/CPS, it is in our best interest to improve this CR.
My questions:
1. Any ideas, advice or similar experiences (share the pain) on how to improve Conversion Rates?
2. What suggestions of other non-adult verticals that take adult traffic do you recommend?

Test different ad placements, visuals, and call-to-action (CTA) wording for better conversions. Consider verticals like dating VPNs, or financial services they perform well with adult traffic.

hard to answer without knowing the actual niche of the site.

Be aware that on adult traffic clickthru rates and conversions are usually abysmal. but with a lot of volume no reason why you couldn't make some $$$

Thanks. I expected, understand and have confirmed low CTR BUT the low conversion (click to sale) surprised me, particularly since I've tried to keep ads VERY clear and non-clickbaity.
PS: not exactly but I would say the niche is Dating.
