I want to build a social network from the ground up I have a creative idea and have a strong feeling my idea will work , due to seeing a previous website in the past doing the same thing, but just with a different niche ..

Here’s what I’ve done so far
1) locked in my website domain name and created a basic a website
2) that’s all I’ve done so far .. haha

Ight ..obviously i need a lot of help and work which leads me to my next question; I want to hire programmers to help me design different features for my ideas I have for my website; I figure I’d slowly work and build my “dream” website .. ive used website builders in the past, but most of those templates don’t have the type of features I’m looking for , for my websites ..

Also sharing my niche/ ideas with a designer/ programmer I feel like I run the risk of that person stealing my niche and ideas lol .. so I guess my next question is where can I go get a trust worthy programmer / programmers / designers .. and

I was thinking to use different programmers to build features on my website one by one, so I don’t risk of 1 person stealing it all

Am I being too paranoid??? And Is it better to just hire the right 1 person ..

I Also do have a fan base of 5k plus followers via IG with my niche and I plan on sending traffic to website once it’s becomes UGC friendly and has enough features to keep users around

I think that being to protective of your idea will get you nowhere, it happens to me too but I think it's a mistake.
Most times even if the other person realizes that your idea is actually good they won't end up doing anything about it and the odds of it being stolen are low.
I think you should try to develop a long term relationship with the team you assemble and make sure that all of you are happy with it so no one gets greedy / disgruntled.

Isn't that against the rules, you might want to double check it.

Ideas are worthless. It's all about execution. If you're paranoid, learn programming yourself.

If you think your real business value is your 5k follows on IG, then a developer can't "steal" that.

You can always sign a non-disclosure agreement and a non-compete clause with whom you hier.

Only if you're in a jurisdiction where contracts are enforceable and the cost of enforcing it (e.g., going to court etc.) wouldn't outweigh the benefits.

If the person who signed the contract really will break it, and if he will succeed financially then it is already worth the compensation money.

It's unlikely that your idea would be stolen, think about it. Programmers work on many projects everyday and also have their own ideas which they most likely never execute. We don't all share the same perspective of what's a good idea and if you're really that worried you can have each part of the project worked on by different freelancers on Upwork for example (backend developer + frontend developer)
