Shared hosting is like paying for a flat with other people you don't know living in the same apartment, but you have a separate room. If a flat mate is in trouble you may as well be a part of such trouble.

I'm using it for small projects, with little traffic. Works OK in these cases but wouldn't recommend it if you're expecting high traffic and/ or you're about to invest in some SEO and expect to rank well.

I used before, it was really good. It was 10-20 visitor, company website.
Companies like namecheap, godaddy,1and1, they all give almost 100% uptime. But of course better to get own server for big projects.

I am using them as starting point once i start getting traffic will move elsewhere, btw there are frequent downtimes just today I noticed the mysql server was down for around 1 hour Wordpress website couldn’t function

Namecheap has a good customer support, but I would advice to use Namecheap when you are just starting with your blog.

Namecheap are fine.
Did a test... and I can confirm it can handle 1.5k+ visits a day (but I use cloudflare and it helps a lot).

How many "concurrent users" are you going to be seeing on your site at any one time?
if it's just a few it will be fine, if it's lots then that's when issues will start to begin.

for cloaking, it's a great host. It literally provides the basics to get started and works wonders with cloaking

Shared hosting is never great. You can run a blog fine on the cheapest tier on DigitalOcean, Linode, AWS, etc fine and it's much better. You can just spin up a server that already has WordPress installed on all of those.

Namecheap's shared hosting is fairly decent, but there are better options. BlueHost and HostGator have decent plans as well. It also depends on what you'd be using it for.

I used Namecheap shared hosting before and it is a good option for small businesses and bloggers. It's reliable and affordable. However, it may not be suitable for larger websites IMO.

My opinion:

Namecheap is the best for domains
Siteground is the best for inexpensive hosting

It largely depends on general needs and what they are using to power a website. I know of people attempting to launch full-fledged E-commerce stores using WordPress + WooCommerce which are both resource hogs. They then wonder why their newly launched ventures are running like and automatically blame NameCheap.

Shared hosting is best for small blogs, small businesses, portfolios and other basic uses.

I used Namecheap shared hosting for a long time. It’s good for small business when you start a new blog.

But when your blog gets a decent number of visitors, it’s time to look for better hosting. Specially, if you plan to monetize your blog with Ezoic, adthrive, never use Namecheap hosting.

It is not bad. Sometimes the support service is lame. I can confidently say 6/10.
