It's been six months so far, using a Reseller 2 hosting from them. I am pretty satisfied with the quality of the service and the customer support they provide. I had a DDoS issue, but it was my fault (crappy WP exploits). On their end the uptime is great.

Still a hundred times better that Godaddy. And at least Namecheap owners don't kill elephants.

LOL NIghtmare why so?
I have read many good reviews about this website but.

NameCheap is excellent when it comes to buying domain names and their support is just as great, but it wouldn't surprise me if their hosting was subpar. After all, just look at GoDaddy's abysmal hosting; it seems as if domain companies that offer web hosting as a secondary service have a difficult time handling web hosting services.

I'm glad you shared this detail with us, because I was just thinking about where to register a domain, and NameCheap was one of my solutions. So, thanks to you, I'm going ahead with them.

I don't know about elephants, but their hosting at the low price points really does suck.

I mostly use them for buying domains. There's only 1 webhost I use, unless I'm going for VPS, Dedi, or redundancy. In those cases, I have another source.

They were simply (rightfully) protecting your account. You're the one who fucked up TBH, losing the email you registered with - get yourself together.
Furthermore this has NOTHING to do with the quality of their support but is merely a conflict between your fuckup and their account protection policy.

NameCheap is awesome.

Just to dig this back up, Namecheap support is actually one of the absolutely best that I have ever dealt with in an internet environment and I am one to usually choose live chat for all companies I talk to so I can multi-task on the computer. Their hosting itself is another topic and I will agree it is OKAY and not something to consider if you will be receiving rivers of traffic. You should understand what you pointed out, you weren't organized and they simply have a few layers of security before they give access to an anonymous person through a livechat. If it was too easy, then all of our accounts would be compromised if all it took was 10 minutes of searching personal info of a webmaster. And for a live support team that seems to be primarily based out of Russia/Ukraine, they constantly impress me with their ability to match Native English standards when discussing technical issues.

After dealing with various domain registrars, I will always give Namecheap 5 stars because I always have a small discount code and the WhoIs is free. There's a reason GoDaddy offers 99cent domains, they rely on people buying them so cheap and forgetting about them and getting autobilled. Plus, it's no secret that there is a way to take advantage of GoDaddy domain name searches so that people register domain names that are being live searched. I always recommend everyone to go to Namecheap instead to search domain names because I have experienced that issue with GoDaddy way too many time where it's available one minute, and the next it's in auction.

Just install Lastpass Addon and save everything there to avoid those problems in the future
