Documenting my Trading Journey for 2025
About Me :
I know about Trading for sometime ( Around 1.5 years now but with breaks in between as I was not consistent since I was studying and busy with personal matters )
I started Trading Funded Accounts Last Year February
I passed 2 Challenges and Currently I have only a $5k acc [which is at a -2.3% i didnt trade last month at all (tbh idk how it got that low but i guess i set some trades and forgot abt em as i didnt trade for 1 month) (image attached below)
oh i forgot to mention that I did take some withdrawals from that acc after passing amounting to around 6.3% which is $323.40 so yeah the acc cost was covered image attached below
I do have too much going on my head sometimes and I forget what i was supposed to say which you may or may not notice it so sometimes i may say something that was for a older post with a new post as i forget some stuff sometimes since i cant type the speed my brain thinks with these posts which im sorry
Both Technical and Fundamental Trader (better at technicals as i started learning more about fundamentals this year)
I trade only Forex & Commodities (mainly XAUUSD - Gold [yes it is volatile] as I prefer it more but I will add some more good commodities that works the same way and that is easy for me to read and interpret the charts for trading)
I was a day trader but i'm putting some time into stuff I have to do so I switched to Swing Trading
Reason for Documenting it :
So I can monitor my progress and also share something with people here
I want to be consistent with trading which I'm guessing writing this thread and documenting will be more helpful with me being consistent (idk how but feels like that)
I would like to look back one day and share my journey with someone and for people who will start like me when I achieve a good place
I don't want to create yt videos as I will have to talk and it's just too much as I just want to focus on trading and nothing else ( not to sell courses or build a brand )
Knowledge Regarding Trading :
I started trading kind of young with the help of my parents
I started where most people would start Chart Patterns, Candlesticks, Harmonic Patterns and stuff like that
With time I realized there should be more to this market and it's probabilities which pretty much makes this gambling, but with a good enough edge you can have a good probability of winning (not 100% winrate like yt gurus say lmfao)
so I started learning more concepts and ideas and found a good method(strategy/process) to get a good winrate
but without being like the majority of new traders, i decided to backtest and then forward test it and i created a spreadsheet for it
I backtested on TV charts for 1 year of data starting last year Jan ( just letting u know i started backtesting PROPERLY WITH USING A SPREADSHEET last year around september so I backtested 2 months first then I decided to backtest from the start of the year to get more data as i found the new strategy after losing multiple funded accs and stopped trading and just built a good system which happened during the end of the 1st quarter ) [also i will attach images of my spreadsheet down below] {also again about the backtesting part I do have some months for Gold to backtest and even for forex again as I made some mistakes with the logging which I have to do so some of my percentages / values will look weird or off )

oh yeah
I am better at Technical than Fundamentals like Reports, Economies & Reports (i used to dislike Fundamentals and said they dont matter but with time I realized maybe it wont give trades but it will give a good understanding about the markets specially Commodities & Forex so I'm currently learning more about them)
Tools & Resources I will be using :
TradingView for Charts and Analyzing
Google Docs for Journaling
Google Sheets for logging the Backtesting & Forwardtesting results
Chatgpt, Deepseek & Perplexity for researching and stuff that I will mention along the way
So yeah i'm pretty sure i forgot some stuff I was gonna say but I'm sure that I will write as soon as I remember them

also i was a day trader but due to lack of time to spend on charts like i used to have i switched to swing trading
as i started trading before writing this post i passed a 5k acc last year and i made some withdrawals from the acc amounting to around 6.3% so my challenge costs were covered which i attached the image below

I won't be sharing all of my process(edge) as it would ruin the point of having a edge or a system and it took me time to build it and im doing this for free (i dont have plans to charge either lmao) but I will share information that you can forsho learn something or atleast help you ( i hope )

also in this spreadsheet image you may noticed for USDJPY in July it shows 100 which is not bc I deleted the logged data as I have to backtest that month again, so it just shows as 100% lmfao
I use multiple sheets and linked it to this sheet which is kind of like the main as this shows the summary where i can read the logged data , this is the information i can share at the moment for this sheet but i have some more specific criterias and filters which are below the visible part
this is what my data logging sheet look like (backtesting data) u can see gold jan month is empty , some moer months are empty as i have to backtest them
this is the funded account I have at the moment (5k acc FundedNext Stellar Lite 2 step acc with a -2.3% drawdown)
