Hi.

And welcome to my Journey on becoming the next Bill Gates in online sales. Well not really. But it would be cool anyway hey.

Just to kick off, I thought it would be nice to share my story here as I would have liked to be able to read a similar one. Yes there are 1000's of posts, YouTube Vids about making money online, Shopify website, being an affiliate etc. etc.

Well I can honesty say, that not one of these worked for me, I never made a single sale. And it is not like I did not put in the Time, Research, Facebook advertising and Money, Fuckin lots and lots of money.

I paid to get training from the "Guru's", yes some are good but how the hell am I suppose to do split testing run multiple Facebook add campaigns if I don't have money to do it in the first place.
It seems like it's something that the "Guru's" forget. Now that they have 1000's of $'s to use on testing. Starting out you might have $50 to a $100 which is not nearly enough to get those conversions you are looking for so badly, you will just get a Facebook like or comment maybe a website visit, but that's it.
Some of the "Gurus" spend up to $5000 on a single campaign just to break even. So bad news, You will probably not make enough to do it full time, trust me, I tried, and failed. But maybe it's just me.

Now I am not saying it will never work. Maybe you are that lucky one, that 1% that's actually lucky enough to hit a home run with your shop & niche. But as 95% of you probably resell stuff anyway, the uniqueness of that product "niche" goes out the windows pretty quick if 10 000 other people are selling the same item and bombarding Facebook with their adds.

As we all know you need traffic and all the "Guru's" also call's it traffic.. This to me is wrong..
The word is "Impressions", and a Fuckload of it. That and you need to seriously work on your "Tags", tag research to me is just important, if not more important that impressions. Tags are a lot like SEO, but in a product sense.
You need to fine tune this more than the 50 000 people you targeted as traffic on Facebook. That won't do shit. Don't believe me. Try it. Go to Facebook, setup you campaign, and drive 50 000 traffic to your advert or website, and come back to me with your ROI and conversion rate.

Now, I am no guru by any stretch of the imagination, neither do I make $150 000 in sales a month. But I do make sales, at least I can say that I do. And i do feel better about myself :)

So if you are like me and at least would like to make your first sale, then I will gladly continue sharing my journey here, with some proof of sales and ROI.

Thanks.

Hi Again.

As I don't want to just edit my first post and make it a huge long ass read. I know I don't like reading 500 000 word long threads. I will be breaking it up into different parts. Replying to my original Thread.

So with that said, lets get started.
--------------------------------------------

So as I mentioned before. I have lost a lot of money, and spend a lot of my free time trying to make a few $ on the side, without any success. I am not looking to get rich, well not at this moment anyway. Yes I think we all strive to leave our day / night jobs and do what we love and are passionate about. But it's not very realistic thinking you will just hit the ground running, without hitting a few pot holes along the way.

I hit a couple of potholes.
Especially the ones you don't see coming on a rainy day <-- yes these are all metaphors.

Before I started making a little $ on the side, I took a year off. Family, rethinking my strategy, doing social research, a lot of social research. I did not touch or spend any money on anything even remotely associated with how to make money online.
The one thing that really helped me was this.. I stopped just thinking of myself as an entrepreneur and also started thinking of myself as a consumer, which is not that far fetched, seeing as we are all consumers one way or another, but it is a bit of a mindset shift. Well it was for me anyway.

What I can tell you is this. People like cheap shit. Retail therapy is real. People respond better to ratings and viewer count. Well you probably know all this already, me too.
But i never really understood it. There is a difference.

Once I got most of the basics down in my mind, I set forth on my mission for world domination. Yeah I wish.

So my Journey started in December of 2016.

I searched far and wide for some way of reaching a lot of people and not pay for it. And yes I mean not pay 1 cent. My only job was to find and test the products that people want to buy cheap but still give a good rating for and recommend to others, it's no use selling cheap shit, and get a bad rating because yeah, it's cheap shit.

With the testing also comes the Tags of products which is an art in itself. For this you can use many different platforms to see what people are searching for. I was lucky as I found a way to actually "hack"
top selling products, and see what Tags were used for those products, so all I needed to do now was to try and find the same products and sell it for just a few cents cheaper, which is not always possible. So it takes a bit of research to find that perfect product.

So In my search I stumbled upon the perfect platform for reselling products.

No upfront costs.
No monthly fees.
No payment fees. (I use Payoneer with this platform)
No paying for Impressions.
No Advertising costs (WorldWide)

So what is the catch. Well none really. They only take a % of the product sale. (no I'm not using Bonanza)

I registered, got verified, linked my Payoneer account. I use Payoneer as I am not based in Europe or USA, which in itself is a whole other challenge when entering the Online selling world.

Anyway..

After finding the product and kicking off my store. I set of publishing my first few products. <-- this was before i found a way to "Hack" existing stores products and see their tags.

This was my first week.

Yes. No sales :) But I did not give up. Neither should you. It gets better.
I also did not pay for the impressions, so I was not bothered about losing money, I just let it ride. because why not..

Thanks.

I will fine tune it a bit.. I see what i did there.. as I am not native English, I sometimes get it wrong.. Shoot me.. :P

Ok, we were only having a bit of fun, don't take it personally
I know.. and I'm not :) But thanks for pointing it out. Now that I read it again. I can see how it can be wrongly interpreted.

Nice post OP. Good luck with your journey.

12th December 2016 / 12th February 2017

Yes it took about 2 Month to get my first sale. But if I decided to just stop because of no sales, then it would have all been for nothing. But I kept on trying and trying.

I started getting better at optimizing my tags, combined with the choice of Products, the Impressions started getting better which then actually resulted in me getting my first sale..
Even thought it was not a huge sales, it still felt good, as it was the first time ever I actually sold something, given all the work I put in.

Just that one sale made it worth it. I made about 70% profit on this sale.

And here the payment to my Payoneer Account. Which are done twice a month.

12th February 2017 / 12th March 2017

The journey continues. And round about this time I started using the "hacked" tags for same or similar products that I added to my store. The Impression increased considerably from December 2016 when I started.

I also found a niche product at this time.

My Payoneer Payment loaded: The $21.25 was loaded after this. I will provide Payment Proof in my next post. Which will also take us to my journey as it stands now.

A niche product really makes a very big difference when it comes to impressions and actual conversions, as can be seen here. My goal is for a stable $500 a month for now. But as niche ideas do slow down in sales eventually, I am currently testing new products. What I like about the current shop and platform that I use, is that I am doing exactly what 1000's of other people pay money to do, and I don't pay anything for impressions. Like in facebook for instance. There you need to create multiple ads to test with different audiences to see which niche products converts well for which audiences.

The last payment I received to my Payoneer account.

I am still waiting for my latest payments to come through on the 1st of May.

Agree, please continue posting even if monthly. Not everybody sees that new threads since people go on and off, and also many new journeys pop up. I for one just saw this now and am following!
